For RBHoya ;D, this thread will notify current students of recruits who are taking visits so that we can welcome them and help them make the proper college choice. First off: Devan Bawinkel, a 6'5" guard who is currently ranked #104 overall in the class of '06 by rivals will be visiting in May. Don't know the exact date yet but I'll be on the lookout for it. This kid also has a 4.0 GPA, haha. georgetown.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=29332"I'm going to take an official visit this month to Georgetown," he said. "After that, I will probably take official visits to Michigan State and Wisconsin. When I go to the TOC in North Carolina, I take an unofficial to North Carolina State."

Woohoo, thanks 007 ;D A 4.0 GPA sounds like a winner to me... why's he bothering to visit NC State if he clearly cares about academics? You think we could put something together for him if he comes before the end of exams? As a longterm goal, I think it'd be great if the "new" Hoya Blue makes an even more concerted effort to show recruits that we want them to attend GU. Obviously I don't have much of a clue as to what it's like to be an athletic recruit, but I imagine that if there were a number of signs up encouraging me to be a Hoya, as well as a few people who came up to me and recognized me and said "Hey, we really want you to come to Georgetown, we're all big fans of your game" and stuff like that, it'd make me realize that Georgetown IS a school that really cares about basketball, and somewhere where all my hard work would be appreciated. Thats the kind of school I'd like to go to. I don't really have any info on this, but I'd imagine that the Dukes and the Kansases of the world make a good impression on their recruits when they visit, which helps convince so many talents to come. We dont have the facilities that a lot of other places like that can offer, but I think that simply showing some of the recruits that we're aware of them and that we'd love to have them can really go a long way.
