Looks like that team is DONE. Any way they can even COMPETE in the ACC next year? No Felton, May, McCants, Williams... ouch. Oh well... they DO have the rings to show for it. Lucky jerks. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2043018

I just don't get why everyone thinks M. Williams is so great. I think he still needs alot of work on his game. Everyone talks about upside but come on. He is completely overrated at this time in my opinion. His play in the final should show NBA teams he needs work. I loved it that Billy Packer was all over him in the final.

since when has the NBA Draft had anything to do with polished or finished players...Marvin has the huge upside and that is enough for him to be a top 5 - i would compare him to Wilcox but i think wilcox was better at maryland

Wilcox would destroy Marvin Williams. There is no comparison. All the UNC guys are mediocre-NBA talents. Marvin Williams may be the most talented of the UNC group, but that isn't really saying much. I'm glad they are leaving. Good riddance to UNC. One less North Carolina/ACC team to hear about next year.

Comparing Williams to Wilcox is apples and oranges. Williams already has a much better developed outside game than Wilcox, but Wilcox would eat Williams alive inside. Williams will be a 3 in the NBA. He may not be anywhere near ready for it, but as said above, the NBA draft is now about potential, and Williams has it.

"All the UNC guys are medioce-NBA talents." Okay....Let's see...You may not like Vince Carter, but he has all-star talent. Antawn Jamison is an all-star type player. Rasheed Wallace is a great talent. I could go on. Please stop making sweeping generalizations like this.

I wonder what repercussions this UNC implosion will bring to our last-minute recruiting efforts? Any player recruited to UNC will see serious playing time next season. That has to be an incentive for certain players.

Get a grip and calm down. When I said UNC, I'm referring to this year's team. So you can relax now.

I think the Marvin Williams love is based on the whole "I have to draft this guy 'cause if I pass on him and he's a superstar, my career is over" phenomena.

I think the Marvin Williams love is based on the whole "I have to draft this guy 'cause if I pass on him and he's a superstar, my career is over" phenomena. I also think that he showed a lot this season. I think "upside" is a big part of it, but let's not pretend that he didn't produce on the court. plus he showed a pretty well-rounded game. Williams is much more of a sure thing than takings another Nikolas Tvischid (or whatever the hell his name is). Chris Wilcox would destroy Williams? Please. I'll bet that Williams will have no problem beating Wilcox's NBA career averages of 7.0 and 3.9. Heck, Wilcox only averaged 12.0 and 7.1 and 1.5 his last year at UMd while Williams averaged 11.3 and 6.6 and 1.1 blocks. Why the hatin' on Williams? Especially in favor of the Twerps (speaking of the ACC).

when i compared wilcox to williams it was b/c of there similar numbers in the year before they left school - it was also because both are tabbed as huge potential upside players - wilcox had a 15-footer, but i agree that williams has a better outside game and is not nearly the specimen at this point that wilcox was as a soph at md...but i am just saying that coming out of college, if i had a choice between wilcox and williams, i would prob have taken wilcox

I thought Wilcox had enormous potential coming out of college, which he hasn't lived up to.
