Bumped up to a 5 star on 247 recently 3@3: Best guards I saw this spring 3. Devontae Shuler, SC Hornets: Every time the class of 2017 guard touched the ball, there was a level of excitement that came with it. He is instant offense and does it with a gorgeous pull-up jumper, elite athleticism to the rim or with straight power to the rim. Shuler, a standout last season at the Havoc on the Hardwood, continues to get better and better. He’s a no-brainer high-major guy and the Columbia, S.C. native should be a priority prospect in the rising junior class. He’s as good of a player as I’ve seen this spring regardless of position or class. hoopseen.com/index.php/news/just-a-minute-justin-young/item/3211-3-3-best-guards-i-saw-this-spring

#STRecruiting: Shuler still considering several schools
PG Devontae Shuler, the former Irmo star who played last season at Oak Hill Academy, VA and will return there for his senior season, said Friday night he won’t make a decision on college until next April and he’s still considering several programs. Shuler said in an interview with TheState.com at the Peach Jam in North Augusta that he is looking at Oklahoma State, NC State, North Carolina, Georgetown, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Southern Cal, USC and Clemson. Of that group, Shuler said right now he’s hearing the most from Georgetown and NC State.Shuler said he will take official visits when he returns to school this fall and one for sure will be to Southern Cal. As for his two former in-state programs, USC and Clemson, Shuler said the interest is there. “South Carolina, of course they are going to recruit me, that’s my hometown,” Shuler said. “They stand as one of my top five. And of course Clemson, that’s a good hour and a half away from home. They’ll be in my top five of course, too.” Shuler said he plans to have a top five next April and from there he will make his decision. Yaboy shared this info from a different source in the 2017 recruits thread. I suspect we'll offer him sooner than later....
