So I guess the big takeaway from last night's debate is that as long as you're really really really scared, the constitution is irrelevant and your rights don't count anymore.

Unfortunately, that's a sentiment shared by both sides of the aisle (save for libertarians like Rand "Get a Warrant" Paul). For example, guns are scary, so the Second Amendment is irrelevant and outdated. The same applies to Democrats in favor of more "security" and police power.

While they don't occupy the same space as each other, Sanders and Paul are the only two I see who are least reasonably on the correct side of the issue. It's bizarre to watch the others argue about the proper balance between privacy and security. Pretty sure that debate should be about amending the constitution, not passing legislation that ignores it.

I am certain you are beaming with pride with all the goings on at the GOP. Excelsior! Actually, I loathe the whole lot of them on both sides of the aisle. I am just profoundly tired of listening to Democrats act as if they are not equally partisan and vile. Let's all be grown ups here. The best and the brightest want no part of American politics and that is a damned shame. Who do you see coming out of the Republican Primaries?

Emails released by State seem to indicate Hillary instructed aide to delete security markings and transmit material to private sever after problems with secure fax.
Tick, tick, tick...

It is often said that people and societies get the government they deserve. That is sad but true. Hillary Clinton's next public appearance should be an arraignment. Does Lorrtta Lynch have the integrity to see that happen? Sadly, no.

You citing David Brooks with favor. That's a first.

You citing David Brooks with favor. That's a first. To say that David Brooks gave a very misleading description of the case is an understatement. The case went to the Supreme Court because the Court of Appeals decided the case on an incorrect basis. The Supreme Court agreed with Cruz's argument. And Ginsberg and O'Connor were in the majority. Does that mean they are as "brutal" as Cruz? After the case was remanded, the Court of Appeals decided the case on the correct basis and released Haley. Cruz was still solicitor general at the time, and did not appeal it. That was conveniently left out of the article. By the way, Haley was a habitual criminal. Because he committed his second felony three days before his conviction of the first one became final, he was not eligible for the "three strikes" sentence on the third felony under Texas law. But for that technicality, he would have gotten a much longer sentence. That said, I can't believe I'm getting into a technical legal argument with someone on the Internet.

Dallashoya destroys hoyainspirit. Hardly. That article encompassed far more than the technicalities of that one case. Cruz, a hypocrite who espouses doom and gloom, lies almost every time he opens his mouth. Even a conservative writer like Brooks recognizes that. I suspect you do as well.

Marco Rubio's Economic Plan Doesn't Add Up, Experts SaySo typically Republican. Let's just gut food stamps, health care, low income housing assistance, and education. Sounds like Louisiana and Jindal to me. That worked out so well that Republicans in LA just elected a Democrat as Governor.

Ok, we get it. Save everyone some time and just post "Democrats good, conservatives, evil."
