St. Anne's-Belifield (Va.) four-star forward Javin DeLaurier, No. 48 in the Rivals150, has felt at home in a number of ways this week. Whether it's been defending the post or cleaning up missed shots for putbacks, DeLaurier has made his presence felt.
DeLaurier's play has also made a presence with schools. Though he considers himself open, DeLaurier said the schools recruiting him hardest are Virginia Tech, Princeton, Texas, Vanderbilt, Miami and Florida.
DeLaurier visited Blacksburg for the Hokies' game against Syracuse and still stays in steady contact with coach Buzz Williams and the staff.
"I love Buzz, just the way he starts out in a full suit and ends up in a button-down that's halfway unbuttoned and drenched in sweat," DeLaurier said. "He's created a nice culture down there and I think Virginia Tech's gonna have a chance to be a really good program.
"They just show a blue-collar work ethic. I've seen what they do in training camp and it's a lot of work. But it pays off and he makes players better."

Kinda disappointed we're not on this list. Or is it only a matter of time before the big boys come calling on this kid?

Kid has over 30 offers Unc Texas UVA Gtown etc he could have listed the biggest and baddest schools as recruiting him the "hardest" but his answer probably was 100% truth vs hype...

It’s not about academics is sort of a combination of the two.”You're more than likely correct Yaboy but this kid seems to have all the intangibles a program would want in a recruit..

But we probably need 2 guards in this class Banks can play Center so probably more a priority than Delaurier but this kid keeps destroying every higher or similarly ranked player he faces. To be fair to JB he's not the focus of their offense since he plays with 2 5 star guards. He's better, and has way more potential than his stat-line indicates...

zagsblog.com/articles/javin-delaurier-looking-to-cut-list-soon/“Maybe [cut to] five [schools], but absolutely a more manageable number.” DeLaurier said Texas, Vanderbilt, Princeton and Virginia Tech are “all showing a lot of love and communicating with me.” Duke, Vanderbilt, Texas and Notre Dame were among the schools watching him at the adidas camp. He recently visited North Carolina, Vanderbilt and Louisville unofficially. “Had a great experience on those trips,” he said. On Louisville: “Tradition, mostly. Just a history of winning and it provided a new perspective for me in terms of college basketball that I wasn’t familiar with. They bring guys in and make them better and prepare them for the highest level, which is the ultimate goal.” On North Carolina: “Their history, [Michael] Jordan, [James] Worthy went there, it was just crazy. They told me in 2016 they have a need for size who can do different things on the court.” On Vanderbilt: “High academic school, SEC school. Beautiful school, beautiful.” On Virginia Tech: “Beautiful in-state school Not basketball tradition so much, but they’re building a tradition.” On what he brings to college: “Right now coaches are talking about using me as a stretch four early and then as my skill development catches up with my athleticism, using me as a three.”
