Every comment he made for that article reeks of a guy that's full of crap. From the "responsibilities" parts to the not having looked at the conference part. Every single comment sounds like BS. I expect very little in the way of discipline or change at IU. Crean should be ashamed of himself but I get the feeling that he doesn't have that facility any longer.

Hopefully recruits see through that crap as well. I think I am in the minority at this point but i would prefer Cujo over both woods and brown. Not necessarily saying he's the best player of the three because i think they are very even in that regard but with Mosely and Foster on board i just think his skill set will be the better mix. Here's hoping his IU visit is a failure on their end and he gets a great Gtown visit soon after.

Bad timing for Crean and IU with the Bryant/Holt incident right before their visit. Can't really sell the party school aspect now.

My question is what do parents of recruits think of this? How do explain all the transgressions that ok?

My question is what do parents of recruits think of this? How do explain all the transgressions that ok? Last year Bryant's mom (Huntington Prep) was actually really concerned about all the IU off court problems. And now her son has been arrested for underage drinking. "Bryant has made official visits to Syracuse and IU, but the Hoosiers' recent off-court issues seem to have hurt their standing, at least with Thomas' mother. "It seems like we went down there under false pretenses," she said. "They didn't tell us anything about failed drug tests or that type of thing going on. My son doesn't need to be around that stuff."www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/recruiting/kentucky/2014/11/25/report-recruit-thomas-bryants-mother-says-kentucky-basketball-right-place-son/70100202/

Lol. Cuse isn't a bastion of integrity. Moms should have sent him to UK.

Quality parenting right there. How many folks posting in this thread can honestly say they didn't drink as underclassmen while in college or HS for that matter?

How many parents would condone a coach in a supervisory role allowing this continued behaviour?
And I was 21 the first time I drank. Made up for it since, but never had a drop until 21.

Not trying to defend Crean but he did kick Devin Davis & Perea off the team for repeated violations, maybe he'll do the same for Holt who knows but you can't say he hasn't acted.. Good for you Enj but I guarantee you knew a good number classmates who didn't follow your lead.. I'm not trying to condone underage drinking but I can't ignore the fact that it's a big part of college life either..

I have no probs with underage drinking. I live in an area where the drinking age is 19; across the river its 18. Drinking is about being responsible and I know plenty of 40 year olds who aren't. You need to learn to use it properly. Everyone I knew growing up was drinking at 16.
My issue is with Crean and the stuff that surrounds the program. As a parent I wouldn't think my child is an angel but I would want the coach, the program and the school to surround my child with some guidance. Doesn't sound like that's happening at Indiana.

Then again the vast majority of students don't get free rides in return for following the rules of an athletic team.

I really don't see what previous posters have said about Crean's comments. I also don't think you can use underage drinking to validate your thoughts on Crean.
I don't like him but I'm not going to put a pitchfork and torch in my hand over this.

Especially with your apparent view on the issue.

Quality parenting right there. How many folks posting in this thread can honestly say they didn't drink as underclassmen while in college or HS for that matter? True but, there's a different set of rules for athletes obviously. When your average student gets caught drinking it does not embarrass your University and make National News. Playing athletics at a school is a privilege not a right so one must treat it as such. It's not fair, but it's reality. There's always going to be things the normal Student population can get away with that Athletes cannot and vice versa. Also we're talking about many many incidents not just 1. When Crean says he needs leadership from his players while admitting he was slow to discipline Perea and is still keeping Holt on the team after a second infraction tells me all I need to know about Creans idea of Leadership. To keep it 100 though, if the kids really want IU that's where they will be regardless. Bryant's mom made that statement and Bryant is still at IU
