www.hoopseen.com/news/event/201606/nbpa-top-100-friday-aamir-simms-dominates-fieldAAMIR SIMMS, PF, TEAM LOADED VA, 2017: One of the very best that there is from the state of Virginia, Simms had it working all day long but it was his first half of his first contest that made a major statement to those around. Coming off the bench for his squad, the rising senior went immediately to the glass as he worked as a vacuum of sorts bringing down everything within grasp. Finishing with 13 rebounds and 12 points in the first stanza alone, all that Simms did the rest of the way was make plays out of his area and run the floor for the nice throw down on the break. Much slimmer and more nimble around the basket, I will take a 14 points, 21 rebounds performance any day of the week, just as he did during his highlight outing on Friday. SCHOOLS IN THE MIX: Giant group including the likes of Clemson, Iowa State, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Pitt, UCF, among others

"He's not the biggest post player and he's not the most athletic, but class of 2017 four-star power forward Aamir Simms showed a big-time motor and was rewarded with production. Simms was an absolute monster on the glass during the first round of games grabbing a single game camp high (and we would suspect record) 21 rebounds to cement himself as the camp's top rebounder. He added 14 points and showed why programs like Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, Georgetown and Miami to name a few have offered." basketballrecruiting.n.rivals.com/news/nbpa-friday-williamson-on-five-star-path

Recruiting wrap: Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Iowa State, VCU, Xavier and Georgetown are among the many giving chase. Performance: A well-built, rugged and tough post player, Simms knows his own scouting report and he stuck to it while leading the camp in rebounding. He crashed the glass, scored on the interior when given the chance and played with as much physicality as possible on both ends of the floor. His body is college-ready and he is a future interior enforcer type. basketballrecruiting.n.rivals.com/news/nbpa-top-100-top-performers

pittsburghsportsnow.com/2016/06/30/thursday-pitt-recruiting-notes-5/**One thing I did find out overnight was that the Pitt basketball team is still in the hunt for a very talented player. 4-star forward Aamir Simms tells me that plans on making a trip to Pittsburgh. Simms (6-8, 215) says that while he can’t make it in July, he’ll make it to Oakland in August. Simms is rated as Rivals No. 93 player in the country. One recent basketball evaluator described Simms this way: “his body is college-ready and he is a future interior enforcer type.” The strength of his game is interior scoring and rebounding. While Simms holds many D-1 offers, many believe that Pitt, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Georgetown, VCU and Iowa State are his favorites.

Worth mentioning he's been their most consistent player in July. Starting to stand out a bit on a very talented team wit tons of HM talent.
?? Missed this rumor... Would be nice though

His highlights are a couple rebounds and passes? Not sure what to think about that.

Harry Wang?! That poor kid. Parents need to think more about names before they pull the trigger.

Simms is a hot commodity. Miami, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Xavier, Clemson, Georgetown, Cincinnati, Providence, VCU, Georgia, Western Kentucky and Central Florida have offered him a scholarship.
“I have a top six schools I’ll be posting in the next few days. Pitt is definitely in the mix. I simply haven’t decided if they will get an official or unofficial visit,” he said. “Academics are important to me. Coming from Blue Ridge, I know what it means to be a student before an athlete. The style of play at a school will be important to me as well. The area and environment of the school will factor in as well.”
Simms is generally ranked a four-star prospect by the major recruiting services. He plays for the AAU program Team Loaded. Pitt freshman point guard Justice Kitchcart previous played for the same team.
When asked about his strengths on the basketball court, he stated, “I think I bring versatility being able to play my back to the basket. I can shoot the mid-range perimeter shot. A lot of people are surprised to see someone with my size have a perimeter game.”
Simms noted that his strong relationship with Coach Sutton has placed the Panthers on the forefront of his mind. He described their relationship as ‘father-son’. He has previously stated that he has an affinity for the ACC conference as well. Pitt, Miami, Virginia Tech and Clemson may be in a four way race for the talented forward.
“I need to sit down and talk with my coach, but I will be putting out my top 5 or 6 within the next few days. I’m looking forward to learning more about the Pitt program.”

I'm always surprised to see updates on him. Thought this was in the rear view mirror.

It is obvious Coach Sutton was why we were ahead.
