Do we have any chance at Sterling? He'd be an ideal fit. Don't know if BE restricts these kinds of transfers within the conference, but he would be eligible immediately otherwise. Anyone know?

Anyone know? zagsblog.com/recruiting/sterling-gibbs-cuts-list-planning-uconn-other-visits/ The 6-foot-2 point guard is down to Pittsburgh, Ohio State, UConn, Baylor, N.C. State and VCU. The news was first reported by Jeff Borzello of ESPN.com.

Isn't he going to Notre Dame with his brother? No, Sterling will play - somewhere - this upcoming season, then be done. Temple will still be in HS. He won't get to ND until September 2016. Sterling can't transfer within the BE as a 5th year senior so GU has no shot, or so I was told today. He is the #1 5th year transfer available and is down to Pittsburgh, Ohio State, UConn, Baylor, N.C. State and VCU according to ZagsBlog. Ida05816 also reported the same schools and cited Jeff Borzello.

Why can't he come to a big east school? It's my understanding it's not a transfer when you graduate from college and enroll in a post graduate program.

He would sure fill in for ND right away after Connaughton and Grant are gone. Is Jamie Dixon promising free "O" fries? Does VCU sill have Shaka's free lap dances in reserve? Not sure volume shooter in dying programs is where he wants to be. Thanks for addressing the BE question. Several had asked it in the last week or so.

Yeah it sounds like what keeps players from transferring with in the BE is the LOI they sign with a BE school. So especially since Gibbs never signed an LOI with a BE school(he transferred in from Texas) he could've chosen a BE school, but he has chosen not to.

Hope this helps us with our recruitment of Bruce Brown and Rawle Alkins, even though I fear both are long shots.
