From the Philadelphia Inquirer:
"On the boys' side, Chester guard Noel Wilmore, a first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania selection by The Inqurer, said that he has narrowed his college choice to Georgetown or George Washington."
He is suppossed to be on campus this weekend.

There's not a lot of roster space, so if he doesn't want to go to Georgetown's Waitlist for school, he better be something special.

It's possible that the staff is preparing for potential losses from the roster that we haven't speculated about.
I don't know if it's true, but it came to mind.

You can never have too many guards that can shoot or versatile swing men in a Princeton system. Center is going to be Roy and Jeff. Everything after that is going to be a combination of versatile players of different heights. We're looking at Wilmore for the same reason as we're looking at Williams; he fits the system.
Some call it redundancy, I'd call it depth and options.

Plus where will the open schollies come for '06 and '07, the two classes this coaching staff seems to be making big inroads with?

It could be there is a lot more roster flexibility than we realize. Totally agree about depth, but we are in short supply of size -- that's where we really need the depth. If JT3 is really serious about this guy... for this year... I'd have to guess not all of the guards we have been counting on for the '05/'06 season are guaranteed to be here.

Speaking of which, has Sapp qualified?

Speaking of which, has Sapp qualified? Yep -- according to him and there's no reason to believe he is not.

We need balance, not more guards, although I would make an exception for an Iverson-type guard.

sounds like he might prep. Y worry about the roster? It seems like III knows what he is doing.

1/2: Wallace, Sapp, Thornton, Reed, Cook 2/3: Egerson, Crawford 3/4: Bowman, Spann, Sead, Guibunda 4/5: Green, Kilkenny-Diaw 5: Hibbert
So we have 7 primarily backcourt players and 7 primarily frontcourt players. And we lose the following players over the next two years:
Cook, Bowman, Reed, Sead, Green(you know it's coming).
Let me say, I don't know if he will commit but another pure shooter is not a crazy notion that some seam to make it ou to be. Essentially our freshman class went 1-2-3-4-5 in positions and our incoming class would go 1-2-3-4...2. That's not insane by any stretch especially considering we can't offer a substantial amount of immediate time to a big man since we have Roy and Jeff pretty much solidified in the frontcourt. But guards can compete for minutes immediately and with Cook and Reed leaving, start very soon.

I think, in the Princetown, that Marc is currently more of a 3/4 that will evolve to the 2/3. So that changes the balance a bit though probably not your conclusion.

1/2: Wallace, Sapp, Thornton, Reed, Cook 2/3: Egerson, Crawford 3/4: Bowman, Spann, Sead, Guibunda 4/5: Green, Kilkenny-Diaw 5: Hibbert 5: Hibbert didn't really succeed with the Princetown offense; it was Green at the top of the key. Maybe with another year under his belt... But, mobility is a big factor. 3/4/5: At this point in time, saying that K-D, Sead and Giubunda provide the kind of balance needed is a stretch (I hope they improve before the next season and that they get more PT). Under your analysis, if Bowman leaves, Spann would be the go-to-guy for the 3/4. That's a big load for his shoulders (I hope he can carry it and exceed all expectations like Jeff). Based on this, we need more balance in the 3/4/5's. I might be wrong, but no team has won the NCAA without strong 3/4/5's, no matter what type of offense. Using a scholarship on another guard is a risk. But, I trust JTIII's choices.

We didn't know about Tony Bethel and Drew Hall leaving until early May.
I was just saying that they could be preparing for a possibility.
