I think the best thing about next season is that we are going to have a lot of guys who have a year in the system under their belts. I think that sometimes the difficulty of running the Princeton offense is a bit overblown, like the West Coast offense in football. The rules are still the same after all, baskets are worth two or three points, foul shots one, etc... But it was a new offense this year, and the Hoyas should be much better executing than they were last year. There are also four freshman who all contributed at some point during this season, and I am looking forward to watching their development next season. My sleeper to get some serious minutes is Tyler Crawford. He just has a knack for getting open on the back screen, and whether they hit him with the pass or not, it gets the defense moving, and worrying about defending him.
Count me as an optimist. It is obviously too early to start handicapping the TOP 25 and the Big East, but I have a feeling that we are going to be a better team next season, and that is a result all of us should be happy with if it occurs.
See you all at the Kenner League.

I agree, 1803. Lots of experience in this O is crucial- which is why I'm a big proponent of BB and DJ coming back. Can't do better than 2 seniors on the squad under these circumstances.
We really could be a sleeper next year. If DJ doen't come back, look for Tyler to blow up with his minutes.

haha, who isn't a big proponent of Brandon Coming back!?
judging by the way things went last night it definitely looks like DJ is done. The comments he made about wishing he could have played under this staff for a longer period of time and repeatedly telling his teammates to cherish it and take advantage of it. He just said so many things that made you believe he wouldnt be back.

The best thing about next year is Gtown could potentially lose no one. However, if Bowman goes, everything falls apart because too much pressure will fall on Green. If Bowman comes back, I think Georgetown will be a national force and challenge for the Big East title

Not only do we have a chance to bring everyone back with a year of experience, but also if (and with recruiting speculation, it can be a big if) a couple of the freshmen next year can contribute right away, we could be a much deeper team. With more talent, we can play a more high tempo style to get some easy buckets, while still using the Princetown offense in the half court.
With a few extra bodies, we might be able to press some teams that are bigger than us, thus neutralizing their inside advantage. With such a short bench this year, anything more than some token full-court pressure was out of the question. It would be nice to see a return to a similar type of chaotic pressure defense that JT II had back in the good ole days. That, combined with an effective, executing offense, would be very dangerous indeed.

I agree that having virtually the entire team back next year, with a season of working this offense under their collective belt, is a plus. When you add our incoming freshmen to the mix, things look even better. But my optimism's tempered by a couple of things. One, we've got to play better and more consistent defense if we want to move to the upper echelon of the BE. Two, the freshmen come with no experience in the offense and will in all likelihood play like first year players -- inconsistently. Here's hoping we're not forced to rely heavily on their contribution. We lucked out this year w/Jeff. We may not be as fortunate next season. But, I've got fingers and toes and.... crossed .

"The race for last in the Big East begins with South Florida in the pole position".
OUCH.
If BB stays next year could be magical.
If DJ goes, again, look for Tyler to blow up next year.
