The Bay Area crew (me, McBricks, SFOHoya) are heading to Omaha this year for our annual trip. As usual, we will likely be rowdy, sober only from 9am-10am and generally seeing if we can avoid being sent to the edge of town before the weekend is over.
Is anyone else going to be there? Anyone have tips on Omaha? Anyone have any inside track on tickets - yes, we can go through the Hoop Club but we are the definition of low rollers, so it's second level there. Stubhub/Vivid has tickets in the lower level, but only in corners. Anyone know another route?

Thought we had Peyton Manning coming to post real quick. Enjoy the game! San Fran is much better then Omaha but I guess its the closest travel.

There are enough bars and restaurants in that area to keep you occupied enough that you can probably get by without renting a car. The Embassy Suites is a good one, and will put you within walking distance of the arena. I haven't been to the arena, but no matter the record, Creighton sells out, and if you live in Omaha, seeing the Hoyas is probably the year's best ticket (that or Nova). If it were me, I would either go Hoop Club and take whatever I can get, or I would wait another week and hope Creighton keeps losing so maybe a few disgusted season ticket holders put up their seats. Have fun.

I went to the College World Series this past summer and can confirm that the downtown / Old Market area is a good time. We stayed in the Courtyard Omaha Downtown/Old Market, which was well within walking distance of Creighton's arena. I want to say we went to Twisted Forks, Stokes Grill and 801 Chop House, along with a few other places that remain a little fuzzy. Definitely a good time though. There's a pretty good bar area, so whatever you stumble into should be enjoyable.
Also, Pine Bluffs Iowa is right across the river and has casinos and such. You'll probably want to set up a ride to / from that area ahead of time though.

Thanks for the post SF. But speak for yourself - - I don't plan on being sober between the hours of 9-10am.
