Well, I'm interested in that news and thank you for posting it. It was a pretty quick bounce-back for Buzz, even if it's to a lesser-esteemed conference with the ranks of the D-I.

That's too bad about Pete Strickland, he's a great guy.
Of all the guest speakers I've seen at basketball camps, he was by far the best and definitely my favorite. He's got sooo much energy you got tired just watching him.

He's got sooo much energy you got tired just watching him. And might I also add, of all the opposing coaches I've seen in five years, I'd be hard pressed to think of one I enjoyed watching more than Pete Strickland. He gave one of the all-time great performances for pure entertainment value when Coastal Carolina played at McDonough in 2000. It did not surprise me at all to read his bio a few years ago and find out he had some kind of drama background.

Yeah, the guy is hillarious when he goes on about defensive intensity. He's kind of scrawny guy, but he starts ranting and raving and bouncing all around the gym, red in the face.
The last time I went to Wooton's camp, he talked the first day and set a level of excellence no other speaker matched. He's a bit of a no name outside of the Dematha family and on the first day people aren't ever that interested in things as they are trying to get their barrings together, but this guy had everyone's attention.
He was 10x more informative and interesting than Joe Forte (summer after his soph. year at UNC and people only cared to ask him to come back...he said he was going to the NBA days after the camp ended), James Brown of FOX NFL Sunday fame, Adrian Dantley, Danny Ferry, and Bob Harwood of Baltimore HS bball fame. That ain't too shabby. Becuse of Strickland, Coastal Carolina was the only crap team I actually liked to see G'town play.
