This is absolutely a must-win game... Purely for the readability of this website. It is starting to border on bashing-my-head-against-the-wall-at-some-of-these-posts, and it will surely progress well beyond that with a loss.

Must win tonight. Start of a critical three-game stretch. Needs to get off on the right foot with a solid road win. I don't care how it happens, just needs to happen. Hoya Saxa

Please start Tre, DSR, Peak, White, Smith. With Hopkins, Copeland, and Bowen the first three off the bench. I want to see it once...

Pretty close to a must win game, as there are only a couple other conference road games where the Hoyas have a good chance of winning. If Hopkins is starting tonight, I'll be stunned. I predict a very strong game by Paul White in his homecoming, as well as a Hoyas win.

Things that feel like bashing your head against a wall: - Participating in this board this season
- Watching our team play offense against a zone
- Watching our team attempt to run an in-bounds play
Anyway, this will probably be a tough game. And if we play the way we have played for 90% of the Big East season so far, we will lose. Hoping the upward trend begins tonight.

I would not be stunned if Hopkins starts but I do think we will win. And win big.

HometownHoya- I don't think Trawick should start, and I would rather see Bowen/ Copeland get off the bench first. We've seen what he has to offer over and over again. Let's see what White/ Bowen/ Copeland can do with extended run.
FrazierFanatic- The Hoyas are 2-11 the last 13 road games. So, "We have a "good chance" of winning each of our remaining road games with the possible exception of 'nova" is quite the leap of faith. Certainly hope you are right!
GO HOYAS!

In the first place, I do not factor in last season - this is a different, and I believe better, team. Further, a"good chance" does not mean we are favored. It means that if we play well, we will be right there at the end with a solid chance to win. We had a "good chance" against Providence. We will have the same against everyone else this year. I feel badly for anyone who is so down on this team that they think we have little chance to win our road games.

He hasn't been performing well to start BE play and hasn't brought much more then Bowen other than potential. As for tonight, I'm sure we will see DSR, Jabril, Peak, White, and Smith to start. I definitely think that White and Copeland will get over their season averages today. I agree that Bowen should but who knows.

Could happen, but I still expect Hop to start, with White coming in at the first obvious mistake; that has been as quickly as 2 or 3 minutes recently.

Actually, arlington, Trawick has played well overall this year, IMO. For him to go from 63% of available mins to none under your scenario is not something I would like to see. His ORtg is 112.2, second only to DSR. While he does turn it over more than all of us would like, he has shot the ball well from the floor this year, though he doesn't shoot that much or use a lot of possessions. He gets to the line well, and recently has shot his free throws better, 72% in BE play. He's not a star, but not everyone can be. Plus, I love his attitude on the court. The kid needs to play, not be glued to the bench. ORtg | % Shots | eFG% | TS% | TO Rate | FT Rate | FT% | 2Pt% | 3Pt% | 112.2 | 16.8% | 60.4% | 61.1% | 22.4% | 55.8% | 60.5% | 57.7% | 44.0% |

Maybe the predictions thread should be retooled to predict whether we think Hopkins will start.

Trawick is really not starter caliber. He should be 6 th man and bring that energy and driving ability. Let's face it he has no shot and that's killing this line up. We need tre to start at point.

Trawick may not light it up offensively but Bowen provides what upgrade over Trawick? The only style of game Bowen is effective in is a game like the Indiana game. When facing a zone defense Bowen is a liability for everything except weakside rebounding. And defensively for someone with his athleticism, he leaves a lot to desire. Trawick isn't necessarily a shut down defender, but he's the best option to guard the opponents best offensive wing player, he should stay in the starting lineup IMO.

I think that The needs to tighten up his game at both ends before he is ready to be in the starting line-up.
