Apropos of the ESPN article I linked in another thread, poking fun at the UVA and Fresno State coaching searches,

it looks like Fresno has beaten the Hoos to the punch in landing a coach.
Nothing like an LDS coach from BYU to hint that things will be made "squeaky clean" at a troubled program. News article out of Salt Lake City

Incoming class of this fall to BYU is not much to write home about …<br>

Certainly no comparison to what BYU landed last year with Cummard, Miles and Burgess (with the Zags very interested in the latter two big men)

Checking through this past season's roster

going into a losing and apparently injury-plagued season schedule
www.byucougars.com/Schedule.jsp?SP=111&YR=2004
and the various players' stats on the season
www.byucougars.com/basketball_m/stats.pdf
David Burgess is the brother of former Duke-to-Utah player Chris and his stats hint that he must be one of the players who might have encountered an injury. Miles seems to have been a help to the team however.
With the LDS - whether going to BYU or to one of the Utah state universities -- the players often take a year or two away from college (and the game) in order to do their mission. Wonder if any of the players recruited in '04 are going to do their missions this coming year ...... and where they plan to finish up their playing careers?
