How is the general fund allocated? The Hoyas Unlimited board receives requests from various teams for items to be purchased in the upcoming fiscal year with General Fund money. The board recommends those items to be approved for purchase. For more information, see guhoyas.collegesports.com/ot/gu-hoyas-unlimited-staff.html

Thanks. The reason I've been asking is that I'm considering joining one or more of the clubs but I don't know whether it's better to scattershot to Gridiron and HHC or to give it all to the HHC. I will probably be living in the area and probably able to get season tickets by the '06-'07 season. Can anybody off the street not a HHC member buy season tickets but HHC members get priority or do you have to be a member (asking this for comparison with other places)? I was an IPTAY member from '82 (I was 8-9 and it was before they had the Tiger Cub Club, and my grandfather paid it at first - he was a member too) until a year or two after I finished HS so I'm more familiar with the scholarship club model as was obvious by my previous question.

Four the last few years, I've given to the Hoop Club and the Hat Trick Club (Women's Soccer, as I was friends with a number of players during my time on campus). I have found that, for me, I like being a member of both, because I get the newsletters and directed information for both teams, and also because they do have different feels. The Hat Trick club, and I would guess most of the non-hoops clubs, really makes you feel like your donation, no matter how small, is really appreciated, and is going directly into the sport (whether it's practice uniforms, equipment, or something like that).
The Hoop Club is as much a spirit organization as it is a booster club, and since I'm still young alumni ticket-eligible, I see my (small) annual donation to the Hoop Club as like membership dues, rather than a donation with immediate tangible output. I think if people on this board are serious about pushing facilities efforts for basketball, one of best ways to gain attention is through increasing the number of people in the Hoop Club.
