People said the same thing after Jeff Capel left, then the same after Anthony Grant left and now after Shaka has departed. They'll be more than fine. They've already lost Williams and Murphy. And seems like Mack will leave too. This is to be expected when a coach leaves.. Take a look at all the coach firings and you'll see a bunch of de-committs..

I agree that UNC is not an attractive option. Paige, Berry, Britt and Pinson will all be back, and the violations look even worse than those at the Cuse. Indiana was also recruiting him but Blackmon, Ferrell, and Johnson should be back and took up major minutes.
It appears that Williams is a 2G and could play with both DSR and Tre, pushing Peak to SF in a smaller lineup. In addition, we are close to home, reportedly a reason for his picking VCU. He supposedly is still considering VCU but I would not be confident if I were them.
This could be the break we need, and is a better option than a fifth year, as it would ease the loss of DSR next year and allow us to be more selective in getting 2016 guards. Let's keep our fingers crossed -- we are due for a break in our recruitment of guards.

The information has been in the hands of the NCAA for years now and not a peep from them.

FWIW, Michigan seems to be the team to beat according to the recruiting folks at 247

It may take some time, but the NCAA will hit them it seems, just not in a timely manner.

Yeah it's weird 247 all has him going to Michigan right now and even michigan fans don't get it. They were barely involved the first time. They have no playing time to offer and no scholarships available unless someone leaves. Very weird.

...and if he is looking for playing time immediately he is not finding it at Michigan.
Levert, Irvin, Aubrey Hawkins, Walton, Rahkman, Albrecht...
They are stacked at the 2 Guard and even if he could run point he's not seeing time there either.

I had heard that Williams wasn't all that jazzed about Gtown the first time. That may still ring true.

Liked Georgetown, but the offer wasn't perceived as a game-changer like the UNC offer. However, it wasn't as much of a game-changer as initially thought since he committed to VCU not too long after.

All signs point to Michigan, but there are a number of interesting factors, some of which I found from the Michigan board.
- Michigan currently has 13 players under scholarship for next year. They could only open one by transferring Austin Hatch to a medical redshirt or losing Caris LeVert to the NBA. - Michigan wasn't really involved and never offered before Williams committed to VCU. Apparently Beilein is fairly strict about not offering kids until they visit the campus and scrimmage with the players, which hasn't happened yet, and it would seem that it needs to happen before Williams would be offered. - Michigan has a deep and young backcourt. They will return Spike Albrecht, Derrick Walton, Aubrey Dawkins, LeVert, Zak Irvin, and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rakhman unless something changes. - Williams mentioned that VCU's close proximity to his hometown was a primary reason for his commitment, because he wants his family to be able to watch him play.
That said, Beilein is a great coach and a great developer of guards, so it would certainly make sense for him to go there. Still, this seems like a very strange situation.
