While recruiting is not always logical, until the game is played it isn't over. Seems like we may still be in it. I trust JTIII and the rest of the coaches will do their best to keep us in it if there is a chance. He seems to be the one guard who could make a difference for the team in 2015-16. It also seems we would have a lot to offer in terms of playing time compared to other programs that are involved in his recruitment.

But it could easily be about girls! No way you can pass up eating at Olga's Kitchen everyday and watching Jim Harbaugh.

Did Williams visit GU when we recruited him before his VCU commitment?

@evandaniels: Kenny Williams, a four-star guard, told Scout he is down to North Carolina & Virginia. Will take an official to UVa. High-level shooter.
JT3 strikes out on another guard

I do not view this as "striking out". He did not take an official visit the first time around and I never got the sense he had a real interest. He is a good player but not a guy with whom we had local connections. UVA is a rational place for him as it is his local state school about an hour from home. UNC is relatively local as well and he is likely a 3-4 year player so the upcoming sanctions do not matter as much.

Bennett makes JT3 look like a Paul Westhead disciple but some how kids are preferring it over G'town. UVA made VJ King's final 5 also..

I noticed it up here in Canada with the college basketball package. ACC, SEC night after night, not one Fox/GU game during the week. Now, the number of D1 recruits coming out of Manitoba begins and ends with Todd McCullough from about 18 years ago, but my point is ESPN penetration >> greater that FSN. I think it is starting to show in recruiting. My opinion.

Virginia and Georgetown both run structured offenses and defenses, so the turning points would be(1) Virginia is in his home state as was VCU. (2) DSR returning to school as the lead guard for the Hoyas. North Carolina is in the hunt because of their running offense and Paige leaving. My money would be on Virginia landing him. I still think the plausible scenerio for the Hoyas will be DSR, Tre, and Peak at the guard positions next year with Bracey and Gill coming in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

I just think it shows that pace and style aren't everything when it comes to recruiting. Success, on the other hand, is. If UVa has a sustained run of underwhelming NCAA runs (they're on their way toward that...) or a regular season downturn, you'll see their recruiting tick downward too.

The staff has to figure out a way to combat UVA & Maryland though, both programs are creating a good amount of buzz.. Obviously the best way is to win, especially in March..
