As far as I know, Allen Iverson was the last guard from GU to earn consensus AA honors. Not just First team AA, but any level of consensus AA status. Earlier kids included Sleepy, Charles Smith, Johnny Duren, I don't believe the Jackson - Michael nor Daymond - ever achieved that top level recognition.
Since Iverson, we have had some front court AAs. Otto being the most recent, but also including: Big Roy, Jeff and Greg Monroe (some level of AA - Otto was first team, I think Jeff second, Roy and Greg 2nd or 3rd, maybe Mike Sweetney was a third teamer on some AA lists?)
At any rate, we have had a few All Americans in the front court during JT3's years, but none for JT2 or JT3 since Iverson. Given our remarkable success in recruiting recently, I think it is our right, our destiny, our turn to bring in another future AA at guard!
So, who do we think it will be? I guess Allonzo Trier is the most likely to succeed in that regard, right? What about Ray Smith? Dwayne Bacon, others? IF any of those guys DO achieve AA, it won't be earlier than 2016 - and that would be 20 years since Iverson was an AA back in 1996 (anyone feeling old all of a sudden?).
On the other hand, how cool would it be for JT3 and staff to add a future AA guard to the current outstanding group of big guys? And how successful would our Hoyas be if we can accomplish that? Very exciting days to be a HOYA fan!

DSR could actually be an AA. Wouldn't shock me. The numbers he has put up so far have been pretty outstanding for a sophomore. If he continues to progress, I don't see why that couldn't happen.

You have to figured DSR is going to be one of favorites for Big East player of the year this year and next. If the Hoyas have a lot of team success and get a top 4 seed, and DSR continues to play like he did this past year, he'd have to have a good shot at an All American team, especially if he wins BE POY.
