It seems like we have a preference for full figured bigs. Meeks & Robinson were both carrying some serious extra weight or maybe it is a reflection of America's youth that there are more kids with weight issues then you had in the past. Outside of Oliver Miller and can't think of a lot of guys from my era who played D1 hoops and were overweight.

thecornerthree.me/2014/03/30/top-prospects-from-the-super-60-showdown/2016 PF Iran Bennett – Emmanuel Prep – 6’9” 280 Pounds Don’t be fooled by his size, Iran Bennet is a great athlete and a future four-star recruit if he can get into shape. He looks and plays like an offensive lineman, bullying his way to second and third chance opportunities around the rim. His hands are his best asset. He’s got a soft touch on his hooks, protects the ball around the rim, and carves out space on the low-block. His wide frame makes him a matchup nightmare on the defensive end, and his wide pick makes him an excellent roll man in the pick & roll situation. He needs to improve his conditioning and add definition to his frame, but Bennett is a legit four-star recruit in the class of 2016. He already holds offers from Cincinnati, Georgetown, and Ohio State, and Bennett will continue to add to that list as he slims down and establishes himself on the national stage. #76

ColumbiaHeights, a lot of those players slim down to the point you may not think they were overweight. Sweetney, Derrick Nix (not great but pretty good), Don Reid. Heck even Kevin Love was a fatty.

georgetown.247sports.com/Article/2016-Center-Iran-Bennett-Aware-Of-Hoyas-Reputation-With-Big-Men-28382005Bennett told me he currently holds offers from Ohio State, Wake Forest, Rutgers, Georgetown, NC State and Cincinnati. He said he grew up a Wake Forest fan so if he had to name an early favorite it would be them. However, Bennett also went on to say, "it's early in the process". He told me he is well aware of the success that Georgetown has had with big men in the past and that it is definitely "exciting that they have shown interest and offered me.

He probably liked Chris Paul when he was young. I'm sure it's not based on a deep seated adoration of Randolph Childress.

I don't think he was either, but he could have looked up where he went to college. I doubt he remembers Chris Paul in college either, he would have been 5 - 7 years old when Chris Paul was at Wake Forest.

He’s from North Carolina.. There’s plenty of Wake Forest fans in North Carolina. I mean he could have parents/family from WInston Salem or he could just like Black and Gold either way not everybody in NC are Duke or UNC fans..
TBH Tim Duncan and CP3 are the two most highly regarded current pro’s between all of those schools, and imo a North Carolina kid would know those two went to Wake
