Softball team swept a doubleheader today at Creighton, 5-2 and 6-3, with a grand slam in a 5-run 7th to win the second game. They have a single game tomorrow at Creighton. Georgetown swept three games at Villanova last weekend, so now is 5-0 in Big East play, tied in first with DePaul. www.guhoyas.com/sports/w-softbl/sched/gu-w-softbl-sched.html Last year, GU tied for 5th in the Big East with Syracuse. Without Louisville, Notre Dame, and USF in the league, DePaul is the only established good program in the new Big East. GU may be the 2nd best team in the league. GU has a 14-12 overall record which is not bad considering they have not played a home game yet. They started the season 7-7 in tournaments in Florida and the Carolinas, then lost all 5 games on a trip to California, but have now won 7 straight. They finally get to play a few home games this week at Guy Mason Field in Glover Park. A doubleheader vs. Cornell on Tuesday, 4/1 starting at 4. Then a 3-game series vs. St. John's next weekend - double header Saturday, 4/5 at noon and a single game Sunday, 4/6 at noon.
