Agreed! Are we sure Moses and Bowen aren't coming back?

Agreed! Are we sure Moses and Bowen aren't coming back? I didn't include Aaron for a reason.

Yes, thank you Markel Starks for putting in 4 years of work, representing the university very well and being a leader of this team. Your time at Georgetown will not be forgotten, just wish you could have had more team success, you deserved it.

Markel Starks has been an incredible Hoya. Probably what impresses me most is the growth he has shown each season. Espn showed a graphic in the game tonight documenting his progression in points each year. From less than two as a freshman to 17 this year. As more was asked of him, he was always there to deliver. It's funny too because I vaguely remember a couple years ago JTIII benching Markel after a game, maybe against Seton Hall, for not defending at the end of a game we had already lost. He clearly grew from those experiences and others and was the sort of coach able player we need.
Also worth noting that I think this whole crop of seniors--Starks, Lubick, and Cap (we will see if Bowen and Moses are truly gone)-- will do us all proud with what they do after basketball. They seem like true student athletes who will become leaders in other fields once they're done here. I hate that they had to end their careers this way but they won't be soon forgotten.

Markel is the man! It was great seeing him improve year over year, his work ethic was inspirational and he became a great leader. Most of all, the image that will stick with me the most is Markel kissing center court on senior night. Kid has a lot of love for the Hoyas and the Hoyas have a lot of love for Kel.

Yes thank you Markel for carrying your fellow seniors across the finish line. Unlike them, you deserved better and will not be forgotten!

Wishing Markel and the rest of the seniors the best. Starks has been one of the better players in a hoya uniform in the last decade.

A Touching... Heart Felt Moment
As Markel Starks was walking off the court he was met by his mother in the stands... They embraced and he cried for about 3 mins as they hugged... You could tell that the realization of his career as a Hoya had come to an in end in the NIT in Tallahassee, Fl. As I was trying to read lips...it appeared his mother told him that it would be alright.
After the embrace..waiting for Markel Starks was Aaron Bowen in the tunnel... Markel Starks hugged Aaron and cried some more..these 2 Hoyas were the last to enter the tunnel In a heart felt embrace..no cameras, no fan fair..just 2 tired teammate who left it all on the court to end the 2013/2014 season
Was happy that Aaron was their to embrace him as they were the last 2 players to leave the floor...
You could see the mutual respect and how close they have become as teammates in the 4 years together at the hilltop
I am very proud that I witnessed Markel Starks last game in a Georgetown University uniform in person... Markel, Nate, Moses, John Caprio all represented the University with class...
Markel Starks...well done, well done..

I'm not sure I've ever been so sad to see a Hoya's career end as I am Markel's. I don't even mean for him. Yes, I feel bad that his career ended with this type of season, but I am legitimately saddened that I will no longer get to watch him don that #5 Hoya jersey. Kid just exudes class, professionalism, and leadership, and turned himself into a damn good basketball player. And I just can't believe that tonight was the last time I'll get to see him wear the blue and gray. No matter where life (and basketball) takes him, I know he will be successful and I will always remember him as one of my favorite Hoyas. And at some point down the road, I wouldn't mind seeing him back on the bench in a suit...
Thank you, Markel, for making this season worth watching.

Jon Wallace is my favorite Hoya of the JTIII era but Markel has now slipped into second place. What will be interesting to those younger than an old f_rt like me is to watch Markel become POTUS, succeeding Jon.

Markel will go down as one of my favorite Hoyas. I hope he finds a way to make a good living from the game he loves either as a player or as a coach. When a player loves Georgetown as Markel did, it is easy to love him back and consider him as family. Sorry for the disappointing team he found himself on his senior year, but he handled that with class and determination.
Nate, Moses and John were also good representatives of the University and Aaron will always have the putback against Louisville and a highlight reel of exciting dunks to remember. If he keeps playing, hope he learns to look at the rim and not the ball when he releases his shot.
Thanks and best wishes to all of them.

Thank you Markel for being a great representative of GU but more importantly for being such a great representative of yourself and your family.
We always measure points, steals, assists, wins,
More important measures are class, dignity, effort and commitment.
On all of those you are a first team All American.
Best of luck in your future. You are primed to succeed in both basketball and life.
Hoya Saxa.

I just feel terrible for him that he didn't have the talent around him for the team to even be marginally successful this year. In hindsight, wouldn't it have been a good idea for JTIII to punt on this season, redshirt Markel, and bring him back for next year??? The incoming recruits paired with an experienced PG would have been a great combo. I don't watch the NBA much, but does anyone think Markel has a shot as a backup PG with some team? His handle has gotten so much tighter, and he's really developed a pull-up jumper, step-back jumper, and a mid range floater. I think the key would be showing he will have a consistent 3 point shot from NBA range. Not sure if he can do that or not. Regardless, what a great kid and even though we may be sad for him, he seems like the kind of person who will be successful in any endeavor.

If Smith had kept his act together, this would have been a different team, and most likely an NCAA team. I'm not even sure you can "redshirt" a senior except for medical reasons, but there is no way it would have happened with Markel. He would most certainly wanted to go to war with his brothers this year, no matter the outcome.
