I hope, for Mr. Buffett's sake, that he bet someone else 2 bil that no one would have a perfect bracket.

I can't believe Steve Kerr even asked why Providence didn't go for a two for one. This is not something college teams do because they are not as well coached as NBA teams. EDIT: For the posters who feel compelled to mention that Cooley is a great coach every time his name is mentioned, tying basket with 1:10 left and you have two timeouts -- you either make sure your team is well schooled enough to go two for one, or you call a timeout to make sure. No excuse. Agree 100%. 60 seconds to go in a tie game. Could not have set up better for a (non-rushed) 2 for 1. Just awful. But you are also correct that it almost never happens in college games. Drives me crazy.

UVAs in trouble. the main weakness with the pack the line defense is that if you get behind by a lot you have to go to another defense if you want to catch up. Didn't need that stress. UVA came out too clinical - like a team with little tournament experience. Whatever defense you play, you need to play it with intensity. Responded well in second half and with some lucky hot shooting from the bench. Hopefully a good learning experience but just goes to show how tough it is to advance - regardless of seedlings.

Watching all of these games the past few days has really reminded me how bad our offense is besides our backcourt players. When defenses only have to guard certain players it makes it so much more challenging. Not trying to relight a fire but it is just so frustrating to watch these other teams with less talent overall but at least more distributed from an offensive contribution standpoint. What a crappy way to not make the tournament. I hope we always have a team that fights as hard as this one. I just hope we never have a team designed this way with so many players that have no interest in offense.

Re VCU - Now I've seen everything. You can't go into OT when you're shooting free throws with a four point lead and 10 seconds left. You just can't. And that may have been the single stupidest foul in college basketball history. Paging Mr. Bowman. Paging Mr. Brandon Bowman.

While there was a difference in consequence, the scope of idiocy is damn near identical.

I share your concern but talent wise I would take any of these other teams front courts over HAL in a NY minute.

Chris Ford @chrisford_UNC 20h So Coach K laughed at the idea that an A-10 team was more deserving than an ACC team of an NCAAT bid, then loses to an A-Sun team. Well done
Haha...

Jamie Dixon and Pittsburgh are playing to form. Under Dixon, Pitt has played in (including this season) ten NCAA tournaments in eleven seasons; they have made it past the opening weekend only three times (Elite 8 in 2008-09, and Sweet 16s in 2003-04 and 2006-07. Those early exits have been at the hands of Pacific (2004-05; 79-71), Bradley (2005-06; 72-66), Michigan State (2007-08; 65-54), Xavier (2009-10; 71-68), Butler (2010-11, 71-70) and Wichita State (2012-13, 73-55). Looks like Florida will continue the trend.

Not any prettier two minutes into the second half.

Jeff (BPredict) @bpredict 36m Russ Smith had a higher assist rate and lower turnover rate than Aaron Craft this season. But he's an out-of-control, selfish ballhog.

@brendanprunty I'm actually immune to poorly-played, no-scoring basketball. I cover college hoops in New Jersey. Welcome to our paradise, America.

More of everybody's guest Buzz Williams on TBS at halftime. Job 1 - "building a relationship with the players who are there already." BWAHAHAHAHA as above... Solid fashion choice with the bright orange hankie and the maroon tie. You're still ugly Buzz.
