The only good news is that every remaining game is a big chance to pick up a tourney-quality win. That's all I got.

I actually think Xavier is close to not making the tournament. They are 8-5, but their RPI is only 52, and they are pretty much like us in every other regard. They have only 2 road wins, they lost to Seton Hall at home, and they still have to play @gtwn, @sju, @shu, and home against Creighton and Nova. They better win a couple of those games. Should be an interesting game tomorrow. Which Gtown and Xavier teams will show up.

I'm nearing the point of indifference here - I won't be upset if Xavier wins because the Hoyas stink and for the good of the conference we need as many teams in the tournament as possible. Sacrilege maybe but in the long term interests of Georgetown. If we get 5 its a great showing for the NBE and I'm confident the program will bounce back. We may even attract a high-level big man recruit at some point in the next decade. That would be swell.

Will be interesting to see how much fire we can muster for an 11:30 game. We did not have the intensity I expected last night; Seton Hall(!!??) wanted the game more than we did. We kept fighting through a 5 game losing streak. I hope we rediscover that fight tomorrow.

I just don't understand how two players who each shoot 50% or more from the free throw line can be standing at the top of the key with no one closer than 6 feet from them and can't take one step to the free throw line and take a high probability two point shot! Hopkins starts from the same place and takes 4 steps into a throng of defenders just under the basket and either travels or gets blocked. Why can't someone teach him and Lubick to take one step and shoot from the free throw line? Moreover even if one of them misses, the defenders would be turning to the track the shot so the shooter would have a good chance to get his own rebound! This one change would have been worth at least 4 points directly in each of the past two games and if the defenders changed their positioning would have opened the baseline for drives. If the defender did not come up then they would have had more than 4 points from the shot in each of the past two games!

Last night Lappas showed how Seton Hall actually had their big man just sit under the basket and challenge Hop and Lubes to shoot. Usually when they don't is when my wife asks me to tone it down

Nate has actually tried a couple recently and hit one, but of course one miss shuts him down for the night. Same with Hop, who hit one last night, then missed one and stopped. They are not nearly our best offensive option, but at least give it 3-4 tries per game, see if it helps open things up for the others, and crash the board if you clank it.

Hello Gents.
I don't know what to think of your loss against SHU, though I guess we now share that in common, except for the fact that we soiled ourselves at home against them.
I was really hoping, after you took down MSU, that Georgetown would come roaring back into the tournament picture. Perhaps you still can; there's always a crazy run through MSG available to you. I just wonder where last night leaves your squad mentally.
If we can tighten-up our perimeter defense, I like our chances. If we remain ineffectual at that and DSR and Stokes find their range, we'll have serious issues with coming out of DC with a badly needed road win.
Ah, college basketball with less than well rounded teams. The excitement of it all.

Sold my tickets for twice face value (to Xavier fans I assume) and don't plan to watch/record the game on a day that is supposed to be 60 degrees. Kind of liberating when you know the season is over. Wake me up if we make it to the Big East final.
