Since Dan McQ must still be lollygagging in the Arizona sun, while those of us in the Northeast brace for yet another storm(which does give me an excuse for spending the evening watching college hoops), I will start it off.
Defend the 3. Value the ball. Patience at both ends. 3 in a row.

Don't foul. Get to the line.

Butler only has three wins outside of Indianapolis--at 4-15 Ball State, against Washington St. in Orlando and at Seton Hall. There's no excuses here--this is a must win if the Hoyas want to make the NCAAs.

Don't foul. Get to the line. Who knew Bob Knight was a HT contributor? In all seriousness though, just don't foul them every damn possession like the last game. This team had no business being on the floor with us in the first game other than a 25-33 mark from the FT line. And something better than a 55 O Rtg from Hopkins would be helpful. With Jabril back and playing good ball (and consequently no Caprio sightings recently), I think we handle business at home. I don't get to many home games these days, but I'll be in the house on Saturday, so I really hope I'm right.

Stop that Dunham kid from catching fire, and we should be fine.

Butler battled Marquette last night but could not get it done once again. We have to attend to business and keep it going.

Would be nice to have a decent sized crowd there for the game. Would like to see the beginning of some new rivalries.

Ed Corbett did the Butler MU game last night, hope we don't get him this weekend.

I did not realize this is our CBS game. I guess it is good I chose this game to attend to help fill the seats, but still, not a great look for CBS and the Big East.
Going for 3 in a row, feeling like if the team continues its recent level of play we should be OK. I will freely admit, I did not see the return of Jabril meaning so much to this team. Looking forward to see if he continues playing under control and at a highly productive rate. Perhaps missing a few games gave him an idea of how to add value to this team, it certainly calmed down his "tough guy" play which is a huge positive.

Or was that regional? Also i agree, Jabril has come back strong. Something has changed, maybe sitting out made him see the game differently... But he's playing comfortably and at a pretty high level.

Is the Butler game the "Grey Out" game? I haven't seen anything definitive. Thanks.

Butler's O is pretty weak (165th on pom) but their D has been respectable (65th on pom); overall they're 97th to our 54th. Their rpi is 104 and ours is 58; Sagarin ratings are 85 and 52, respectively. Not an easy win by any means, but definitely a must win if we have a prayer of dancing in March. Other than wins v.MQ on 1/18 and @shu on 1/29, they haven't won since December.
FWIW, their message boards paint a pretty pessimistic picture about both the game against us and their season in general. Must be tough living in the immediately post-Brad Stevens era and making the jump to the BE at the same time.

I'm not so worried about Dunham going off; I think Markel, DSR, and Jabril can handle him. I'm more worried about Khyle Marshall (Sr. 6-6 swingman), currently ave 15.5PPG on 55% FG shooting. 'Course he somehow only shoots 49% from FT, so go figure, but I'm not sure who we tap to guard him. Aaron or Reggie maybe?

I never thought I write this because we should always wear gray at home, but I loved the black unis from Michigan State game the Garden. I wouldn't mind seeing them again.
