For the many of you who came over to our 'Nova forum and expressed support for our team in the Tournament!
You guys had a pretty nice run in the N.I.T. That's behind you, you're on the way to the Big Dance next wiinter.
Again, thanks for the kind words. The unanimity at the Carrier Dome -- our many thousands, the Syracuse folks, even Wisconsin (Big 10ers hate the A.C.C. too) and N.C. State (which hates North Carolina)...
Wish we could have gotten a better finish, that was a very, very tough way to go down, particularly to one of the nation's historically most arrogant fanbases.
Williams and the N.C. players have a lot of class, tho. And my hat's off to THEM. But definitely not to their fans, who flamed for 10 days on our forum.
Hang in there, have a great summer and look forward to the 'Nova-G'town matchups next winter.

I was at Cuse for the game, and was really pulling for Nova. Now, in fairness, I would likely pull for a team composed of famous serial killers before I rooted for UNC, but I did my part nonetheless. I was seriously impressed by your representation up there. There were probably more casual Tarheel fans, but the really hardcore fans turned out big for Nova. Actually more than my Badgers, who I thought had a pretty lackluster turnout for a gigantic state school.
You've got a ridiculous amount of talent on your team, and Lowry played one of the best games I've ever seen from a freshman. At least since Melo. I hope we play each other twice next year (sigh...wish it was automatic), because I think it should be a war.

Thanks to you as well Buckeye for the great discussions and kind words. I like to be able to be bitter enemies during the battles between our teams but then afterwards have respect for one another and offer praise when it is due.
You guys had a wonderful season that didn't deserve to end the way it did, but it was outstanding nevertheless. We turned a lot of heads and showed the basketball world that we'll be back much sooner than expected.
I look forward to Georgetown and Villanova battling it out for the Big East and National titles year in and year out from this point onward.

Good season Buckeye, you'll see in the thread on here about "NC trying to blow this" that I was the most outspoken Hoya in supporting your case. Just a terrible way to go out, especially against an ACC team with such a cocky fanbase.... But not to worry, you guys have pretty good shot to win it all next year IMO, with just about everyone back. Im sure Jay and the guys will stew on this all offseason and come back next year ready to go.
Imagine next year Villanova is ranked at the top all year long, #3, #1, etc. and are viewed as huge favorites come tourney time. However, the Hoyas sneak into the dance with a 9 seed, but mannage to surprise everyone and make a run to the Final 4... and then low and behold, we end up making it to the NCAA Championship Game against the 'Cats..... again.... only this time roles are reversed! Ah, its nice to dream.
We need ourselves a Kyle Lowry. Heres hoping one of our recruits plays with half the guts he has.

Thanks to all of you. I like to err on the side of caution with pre-season expectations, but I do think it is a fair statement to think we could be in the top 7-8 teams next year, maybe even better than that.
It was one helluva run and yes, when you take 9,000 screaming maniacs (I intended to go, but had a cash- flow problem), it makes you feel pretty proud.
With major thanks to the 'Cuse and "uncommitted" east coast folks who were there, the Dome became a virtual away game for North Carolina, whose rooters were basically limited to one corner of the lower arena.
We will be doing some major reconfiguration of our campus facility -- finally, including a practice facility and capacity enlargement.
The demand for tickets next year will be scary. Hope you guys get lucky, and some Regiinald Von Gleason III tosses a major donation your way and you can get yourselves a real homecourt, because I think Georgetown could be a very intimidating place to play if you get that. Thanks again -- have a great summer. This is a very, very good forum.
