I remember people saying similar things about Oak Hill before DSR committed. Not saying it's gonna happen, but hopefully not a death sentence.

Oak hill is a different vibe though and still somewhat local to us even though they’re located in a difficult area to get 2… Oak hill also does a lot to keep those kids isolated and focused on basketball.
Findlay Prep kids always seem to end up at Kansas Unlv or Az

Definitely disheartening as he was our best chance at getting that elite guy that could change perceptions about the program's success with guards. Hopefully we continue to aggressively pursue him but the staff knows how to use its resources best.

Out of curiosity, I looked up Findlay Prep yesterday. It seems that it is associated with the Henderson International School, but that the latter's high school closed in 2010. So am I right that Findlay Prep is basically just a prep school for basketball? On their website, there is only very minor reference to education (and it's mostly platitudes), but it seems anything but a normal high school experience. The website has nothing about tuition, academics, etc.
Is this really just a prep school for basketball? Do these students pay tuition? I assume not, and it's free? I guess guys go there for competition and coaching, but it does not seem like anything even closely resembling a normal high school experience. It makes me wonder what the academics are like.

It amazes me how things like this are fully within the rules, but Moses gets suspended because his cousin or uncle paid $500 or so for him to fly to the United States.

It was Moses' family being fully informed of and giving full permission to Joe Boncore, who was an asst coach at Good Counsel at the time and connected to Maryland (you know, where Moses DIDN'T commit) to buy the ticket. Total joke.
Going to go out on a limb and suggest that the Georgetown culture in which JYD was inculcated did not exactly fit at Findlay.

In an article about Findlay Prep firing JYD, it mentioned that he met with Cliff Findlay, and he had decided to "go in another direction" or something of that nature. It truly sounded like something out of professional sports. I really don't know a ton about these prep schools, but at least places like Oak Hill are, you know, real schools.

Jerry Meyer @jerrymeyer247 20m Where there is smoke, there is (often) fire. Don't expect the charade of the Arizona commitment of Tyler Dorsey to last much longer.
Bruce Pascoe @brucepascoe 5h UA commits Tyler Dorsey & Justin Simon did not make cut to 15. UA targets Allonzo Trier, Stephen Zimmerman, Chase Jeter & Isaiah Briscoe did

Rabb & Trier are friends and Rabb & Zimmerman have reportedly enjoyed playing together this aau season.. A class of Trier, Simon, R. Smith, Rabb & Zimmerman is not that far fetched right now..

I heard speculation somewhere that Miller was going to use his position with USA to influence Trier etc...

CourtCred @courtcred 6m California CG Tyler Dorsey has decided 2 walk away from his commitment 2 Arizona. Expect to see dozens of coaches court side n July to c him "In those 5 months, I have learned a lot about that decision as well as the importance, pressure and scrutiny of making such a major educational and career choice. As much as I love the Arizona basketball program as well as the awesome Wildcat fans and highly respect Head Coach Sean Miller and the entire Arizona staff, I realize that, in hindsight, I rushed my college choice and did not provide myself with the greatest opportunity to explore and thoroughly investigate all my possible college options. After very careful personal reflection and discussing this issue in depth with my parents, I feel I owe it to myself to open up my recruiting at this time and fully experience the recruiting process in order to allow myself to make the best possible choice for my future. I am pleased that Coach Miller understands and respects my decision to do this and hope that Arizona will continue to be a college option for me. I believe that I am entitled to make sure that my ultimate college choice will provide me with the best possible experience and opportunity to maximize my potential as a player, student and person. I know there are some in the media, Arizona fan base and public that will criticize this deeply personal decision. But I hope that most will realize and respect my right to do what I feel is best for my basketball and academic career. Thank you for your understanding. Tyler Dorsey" www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/24587917/five-star-guard-tyler-dorsey-decommits-from-arizonaAt least he is honest.

And I totally agree with him. He is entitled to make that choice he delineates.
