In looking at last year's roster, there are only 7 OL returning. In looking at the recruit list, there is only 1 OL so far. Both figures do not count TEs. Unless some DL come over from the "Dark Side" that will leave next years team with only 8 OL. That is going to cause a lot of problems. Expect 7 new OL in this year's Recruitment class.

Hopefully that is the case. In my son's incoming class, there were 7 OL and by the time he was a senior, there was only one left playing

I agree gtowndad- No one truely cares about wining. Lets recruit 20 QB's People do care, but the Patriot League's academic index forces GU to recruit by SAT ranges, so that the aggregate SAT range of the Georgetown recruiting class must track the school's range overall. This, if GU signs a lineman with a 1260 SAT, they therefore need to land a couple of WR's at 1500+ to make up the difference. In one respect, a portion of the recruiting list each year is driven by SAT's and GPA rather than specific team need. While all Georgetown sports want to recruit among some range of scores, it is not tied to a fixed number. Football is the only sport where numbers are mandated by its conference. I'm going to venture a guess, with pretty high certainty, that we haven't brought in more than 1 or 2 players with a 1500+ (2250+ on the new scale) SAT in the past 5 years.

Usually Offensive Lineman are in the higher bands so the school has more flexibility for skill positions. It is a luxury when a highly ranked skill player is also a top band recruit because it frees up recruitment space in the lower bands. As an example Harvard won't take an OLineman below the 3rd band unless he is the next Anthony Muniz or Luke Joeckel; with that said the Academic Index is a combination of GPA & SAT scores. Here is a good link that explains it: home.comcast.net/~charles517/ivyai.html

Thanks for the updates.
With graduations and attrition, Georgetown probably has somewhere from 27-30 slots to fill, and I've listed 21, so any more names are welcome.

Very impressed with this kid's reel. Good size and looks like a great motor. Nice to see a lineman with FBS size sticking on blocks so long.

Per the Twitters, Georgetown will be receiving the services of one Peter Mahoney, a 6'4, 207 lb. QB/Safety out of St. Ignatius in scenic Cleveland, OH.
