I didn’t see a thread about this so I started one?
What is the deal with this network. I thought Fox Sports 1 was to be an actual national network channel in which the programming would be the same for everyone who is watching regardless of where they live geographically (like all of the ESPN channels). But yesterday many of us could not get see the Gtown-Wright State game. Even though the Hoyas game was listed in my XFinity Channel menu as the scheduled program for the hours between 7 and 9 PM, I got the Maryland Terrapins game for some reason. At the right of my screen I saw the words “Fox Sports Detroit” which meant I was getting the Detroit feed. In the past the Fox Sports channels weren’t actual channels but merely regional sports programming that aired on any airwaves with an opening for. Fox Sports Detroit fits that description and I could not imagine why it would be airing on what I thought was to be a national channel. And considering I live inside DC there was no reason for me to get anything with a Detroit designation.
The “Detroit” broadcast was still being broadcast for almost an hour after 9PM had come and gone and well after the Terrapin game ended. It was followed by a weekly ACC show (is this the Notre Dame effect or something because why would Detroit Fox even air that?) and a weekly Detroit Pistons show. Then a few minutes before the end of that Pistons show (just before it got to the final segment of a behind-the-scenes look at the Pistons cheerleaders which would have almost made all of this nonsense worth it), the feed stopped and was replaced by the national feed of FS1 that matched the actual Comcast/Xfinity schedule.
So was this merely a one time glitch or is this going to be a problem throughout the season; a problem which included other feeds, wrong feeds, superseding the programs that were scheduled to air? I read of some comments that those watching on the HD channel didn’t have these problems.
