My guess is he’s not interested. The staff checked in on him and Jeter last year... Yes, I was looking for a little bit more than a guess. But thanks. Wonder if balla knows Well they checked in on him, obviously they would want a player of his caliber so more than likely the reason is ZIMM has his eyes on other schools. Doubt it’s anything more than that...

Papagiannis, a 7’1, 235-pound center, who holds offers from the likes of Temple, Rutgers, Georgetown, Pittsburgh and Indiana, ended up playing for Team Takeover despite going to school at Westtown (Pa.), which is only roughly an hour away from Philadelphia. The native of Greece could end up heading back to Europe to play professionally, but he shut down those rumors right away. “I want to make my decision at some point this summer,” Papagiannis said. Several American schools have pushed hard for Papagiannis, but Temple and Pittsburgh are the two schools working the hardest for the European seven-footer. “Temple and Pittsburgh are going at me the hardest,” Papagiannis said. “Both schools contact me a lot. Maryland has also been after me. zombienationinsider.com/2014/04/20/team-final-scrimmage-recruiting-notes/

Do we show him Hibbert video, Monroe video, or Sims video?

Larry Austin would be a very interesting guy, although I doubt the Hoyas go after him as he'd compete with Tre, and it seems like they promised Tre that he'd be the guy at his position in the class of 2014. But Austin's a well-regarded player, pure scorer, very quick, not a true PG even though he has PG size. Plays a lot like Chris Wright. The Georgetown offense would be a very good fit for Austin. Looks like we are interested KYLE RANDLE @iamkylerandle Larry Austin Update: Rugters Coach, Eddie Jordan has reached out. Providence and Georgetown really in the mix. Could get interesting. 12:17 PM - 25 Apr 2014

I really have to hand it to the staff; they are really leaving no stone unturned. I don't know if I am paying more attention, we are just getting more information or if it is a new philosophy but this staff is working as hard as they can. Hopefully it all comes together and we get another great class for 2015.

We have 5 open scholarships for 15 still. Adding either of those two leaves us with 4 (I'm good with the numbers, I know), which is still plenty to attack our top targets. I guess it comes down to how you view Austin or Peters in comparison to our 15 targets. Are either of those guys better options than Trier, Crawford, Mann, etc.? Personally, I wouldn't be totally opposed to bringing one in and putting the full court press on Trier. Lest we forget that Roddy Peters was pretty highly regarded as a recruit. Obviously he doesn't help us this year but the flip side of the coin is that he'd have a year of seasoning under his belt and presumably be ready to contribute next year. A sophomore transfer who practiced with the team for a year has a higher chance to be an impact player than an incoming freshman imo. A very wise man once said to me (I'm paraphrasing because it was years ago) that seeking opportunity for tomorrow is a sound strategy - as long as you're not neglecting opportunity today. Kind of a bird in the hand type thing I guess. If Roddy Peters or Larry Austin are there for the taking today (and I have no idea if this is the case), are they worth passing up while you chase Allonzo Trier/Bryant Crawford/Terrance Mann tomorrow? It's definitely a difficult decision to make, and I'm just glad I'm not the one who has to make it.

bird in hand. Can't keep having this "will it scare off so and so" mentality. Premier programs load up every year. Kids who are winners aren't scared of competition. Been a broken record on this: The new staff is grinding harder and more effective than before. We will start seeing results. Love it.

KJ Santos
The 6'8" 205-pound guard plays for the Illinois Stars in AAU while attending Vermont Academy, and he's drawing a lot of interest.
"My offers so far are Oklahoma, Iowa, Xavier, DePaul, VCU, Penn State, West Virginia, Tulsa and Rhode Island," Santos told Panther-Lair.com. "Miami, Georgetown, Creighton, Purdue, Stanford, Kansas State, Illinois, Michigan, Villanova, Marquette and now Pitt have shown interest.
Starts at 2:30
Also while you're at it please start recruiting Sedee Keita…

Larry Austin in 22 EYBL games attempted only 13 3’s total and made 3. He shot 58% from the FT line and 40% overall…
At 6’1 if he doesn’t or hasn’t improved his shooting it’s going to be tough. He did average close to 5 assists a game in Eybl though but he did not run the point for his HS team this year unfortunately...

Yeah, shooting concerns me with both Austin and Peters.

I was just getting philosophical for a minute I guess. Like I said, I'm glad I'm not the one having to make these decisions.

Yeah, shooting concerns me with both Austin and Peters. As long as Tre can shoot, I am not that worried. That's why I prefer Peters. He can defend shooting guards at his height but also play point guard. Tre could act as an undesized shooting guard on offense and guard the point guard on defense. Austin doesn't provide that flexibility.

With Monroe and Sims on campus today, I hope we had a recruit or two to meet them...

He appears to have some trouble on the home front. But on another note, Oklahoma State just picked up a 7 foot center named Anthony Allen from Lamar State in Port Arthur, Tx. It's kinda funny I've had my eye on him but he's probably more of a project.

Every now and then we the fans can help tip the scales when needed recruits come to visit just like Butler's recent pickup of 6'8" Jackson Davis. A partial quote from the player's dad. His father, Jonathan Davis, said before the announcement. “The Butler fans have gone above and beyond to express their hopefulness that he would come to Indianapolis.” zagsblog.com/articles/jackson-davis-to-butler/#more-114949
