ScoutsFocus All-American Camp: Standouts As usual, the annual ScoutsFocus All-American Camp took place in Charlottesville this week as well, and director Joe Davis brought in an impressive list of campers, several of which caught the eye of ThePrepInsiders.com. Be on the lookout for a rise in the recruiting of Virginia product Aamir Simms. The 2017 forward is a 6’8″ prospect with ability to play both forward positions and high-majors are already lining up for his services. Another Virginia product with a bright future is 2019 Maury (VA) point guard Chase Coleman. The brother of elite 2017 guard Matt Coleman, he has a similar playing style and obviously has excellent bloodlines as well. One player who made an enormous impression was 2018 center David McCormack. The 6’9″, 290-pounder has excellent footwork, hands, and finishes well around the rim. Right now, he looks like an Insiders100 candidate due to his sheer ability to dominate in the paint. Also a talented football player, it’s going to be worth tracking his progression in both sports. The number of high-major schools who have contacted 2017 point guard Blake Harris this week has been impressive, and it’s easy to see why. The 6’3″ floor general has fantastic vision and makes the game look effortless while he’s playing. Once he learns to play with more fire on the floor, his stock will rise significantly. One of the better scorers in the region for the 2018 class looks to be Virginia wing Keldon Johnson. At 6’5″ (and still growing), he has great feel for the game and understands when to attack and when to settle for jumpers. He’s also unselfish with good passing skills. www.theprepinsiders.com/nba-top-100-camp-matt-coleman-uses-blazing-speed-to-standout/

Ponds has been mentioned more than a few times in this thread.. He's an NYC kid who's a good shooter who plays a spot of need, he says he's open to being recruited also.. zagsblog.com/articles/shamorie-ponds-targeting-senior-year-decision/“I kind of want to add more offers and then I want to cut my list down,” said Ponds. “Probably my senior year, middle of my senior year I’ll decide.”

collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/22/seven-observations-from-nbpa-top-100-camp/Markelle Fultz and Shamorie Ponds continue to score everywhere they go.Two of the biggest scoring threats of the the spring were guards Markelle Fultz and Shamorie Ponds. The 6-foot-4 Fultz put up double figures in every single game in playing for the DC Blue Devils in the Under Armour Association while Ponds was one of the EYBL’s best scorers for the New York Lightning. Both Class of 2016 guards continued scoring the ball at a high clip at the camp as they both made their way into the camp’s top 10 in scoring. The five-star Fultz is versatile enough to play multiple guard spots, while the 6-foot-0 Ponds can handle and find teammates with passes when he isn’t focused on scoring.

Edited. Rule 2 of this board discourages reposting copyrighted material. Items from behind a paywall or "premium' section qualify as such. If you want to send an IM with the detail or post a few lines, fine, but if's behind a wall, it's not suitable for wholesale reposting. -Admin

They're trying finally enj, although we did offer Anthony bennett in HS. I'm hoping the combo of GU's weight up there and JYD being coach pays dividends. Old friend, UK for Murray.

With Canadian Basketball picking up popularity I thought I would share one promising big from Manitoba with you guys. His name is Zeke Plischke. He plays on Team Manitoba U15 squad. He is a legit 6'9 having just turned 15. His dad is a monster of a man so I suspect this kid tops out above 7'0. He is very fit and runs well. He hasn't been playing all that long yet so he's a bit of project. Team will be playing in a Minneapolis at the D1 Summer Classic July 17-19 if anyone is around and wants to take in some ball. www.basketballmanitoba.ca/2015/01/15u-male-provincial-team-player-profiles.html#gsc.tab=0

Not too sure who 3 is tracking here unless there are some 17's playing up. Vance Jackson has been lonked to Gtown before but haven't heard much lately... Top prospects on those teams would be Jaylen Hands PG (Magic)(17), Brenden Bailey (16) and Vance Jackson (16) for Dreamvision both kids are great shooters and about 6'7
