A trend that I've noticed the past couple of years is what I like to call Coaches "Calhoun-ing". What's that? Quite simply fellow Hoya fans, it's the art of Coaches having their fat butts on the court DURING THE GAME. Why is this allowed? All you have to do to tell them to stay on the sideline or you'll be getting a Technical Foul.
I've seen it allowed more and more and why? What does it add to the game other than showing coaches act like idiots? Is is that hard to move around ON the sidelines? And when it's a controversial call, if one of these guys jumps onto the court to argue as I saw today with Pitino and Bruce Weber, that should be automatic technical, if not EJECTION. The game is about the players and you are supposed to show some composure. Passion is fine, but what's so hard about doing it on the sidelines??
It's gotten easier to name the coaches who aren't on the court then it is to name those who are on it during a game, and if I was coaching, the players on my team would be instructed to run up the sideline, run the opposing coach over and force the refs to call something.
Reason I bring this up, is that you'll see the Referees with ball in frontcourt hold up play to tell the bench in the backcourt to sit down, but nothing is said to these coaches about being on the court during the game and on their end of the damn floor?? What's more of a distraction/potential hazard waiting to happen?
Anyways, just something I'm tired of seeing as I was very impressed with WVU and Coach Beilein for their performance and most of all, Beilein's composure and behavior on the sidelines compared to his contemporaries. JT III is one I've not seen act like a jerkoff either and I'm appreciative of that as I believe that kids should be the focus, not the guy in the Armani suits who already gets seen way too much during a game.
