Speaking of searches for AD's, are we ever going to have an AD again? The search committee was announced upon AD Lang's retirement, and nothing has been mentioned from anywhere about how their search is going. I would suggest that it is important for a program to have an AD, and it is high time that we hired one.
At this point, I'd also like to commend our Interim, who appears to have filled in admirably. I am particularly pleased with such improvements as the new website, and I'm sure that such things are related to his efforts, directly or indirectly.

SEARCH PROCESS IS ............... in process. i agree adam birck has done a very good job and has been a pleasure to work with .. i hope hes the one .. then we wouldnot have to wait for an outsider to get up to speed .. also hes part of the tradition of coaches being part of the family... which has let gu do amazing things ..with little money.. ie amazing results... cause coaches care ..and get hooked in to our gu hoyas thing ..go hoyas .. go adam brick . ;D ;D ;D

Adam has been really fantastic. He's very personable, hustles for the Ath Dept, brings new energy and ideas that were not there before. He deserves it full-time.

as far as i a, concerned we do not need to look for a replacement for joe lang. imo adam brick brings certain level of intelligence and refreshing outlook to the job. he should be hired permanently.

Thanks for the follow-up, lic, YB and tboy. I appreciate the perspective and philosophy. I am most concerned about getting a full-time and official AD, not an Interim. If Brick is that person, that is fine. As a general rule, I'd like to see GU sports integrate new perspectives into the family, so my general thinking has been that we need to have a full search with several candidates simply because I had not seen creative or innovative thinking out of McD up until mid basketball season. In that vain, I felt that the gentleman who left last summer for Gardner Webb (I believe) may have been or may be an attractive candidate.
I know that YB comes down more on the side of reform than "more of the same," so I thank him for weighing in on it. TBoy's perspective is likewise appreciated.
We'll see how it all shakes out...
