Well, that means, if you can eliminate Oregon too, he will go to a team with Georgetown experience. Keeping my fingers crossed as the announcement can come any day now. I haven't run around Chapel Hill, but while running for Georgetown I spent one summer training around Stanford and another training around NAU, and I currently attend UO. I am obviously biased, but I think Georgetown has the best running available from campus. I am talking strictly about lacing up your shoes and stepping out of the locker room to go for a run. No short drives. So, if you're reading this Nico... consider that!

The elephant in the room is that Georgetown is the only nationally relevant program with zero facilities whatsoever for runners, none. Try selling a 350 yard track at Western HS/Duke Ellington School to a nationally prominent runner, it is incomprehensible, which is why Gags eventually went west and Helmer is at Indiana. dailytrackpic.wordpress.com/2013/02/18/duke-ellington-track-and-field-washington-dc/

The Hoyas have done pretty well considering that disadvantage. They have had some of the best collegiate steeplechase runners over the past 10 years, all without a steeplechase pit. They seem to have decent workouts on that 320m track. They go out to the third lane and three laps around is 1000m, so many of their workouts are repeat 1000m. During the XC season they often go to the polo grounds and do their repeats on grass (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeTe_eVDEhQ).

It has a special place in my heart haha.

I saw the other day that Katrina's brother Will Coogan committed to UNC to be coached under Coaches Miltenberg, Sorensen, and Nadel.
"I won a national title with your sister" was probably a solid selling point.

Oddly enough the fastest I ever ran was in a time trial on that little track. It has a special place in my heart haha. What was your time? I ran 8:54 for 3200m after we went out in a controlled 4:30. The next week I ran 24:06 for 8k after we went out in a controlled 15mins for 3 miles, so I ran the final 3200m in 9:06. My best high school two mile was 9:15, so I was pretty ecstatic. I never performed like that in any subsequent races, but it's a nice memory to have.
