Now that Paul White has committed to GU, can anyone recall other Hoya recruits from the windy city? None come to mind for me, although I'm sure DFW can think of some.
Tavaras Hardy has history and lots of connections there, so maybe we'll be seeing more kids moving from Chicago to DC in the near future.
TIA for your responses.

How about Derrick Jackson - who left school in 1978 as the Hoyas' leading scorer - from Wheaton, Illinois. Or Kurt Kaull - also from Wheaton - who may not have had a scholarship (not sure) but was on a couple of the Ewing teams.
Note: Wheaton is a suburb of Chicago.

I didn't realize Derrick was from the Chicago area, but hey - that was almost 40 years ago! In fact, he arrived in September '74 and White will be here in September '14! That IS 40 years. Yikes Chris, we are REALLY old! Still, I know you wouldn't mind getting another kid like Jackson. What a stud. I guess we can somewhat consider LJ Peak as a Chicago recruit even though he was only there one year. KB probably spent most of his time with Peak in Chicago. Also, thanks to Hoyaboya for linking that article. It sure seems as though things are looking up for our Hoyas. New conference, new assistants who know how to recruit, 4 excellent new kids, and ... hopefully.. that new practice facility.

Telling recruits in Chicago that they will annually play at DePaul, at Marquette, at Butler and at Creighton, plus having nearly every game televised, will be a big plus in recruiting Chicago and the Midwest area. Kansas has long benefited from Chicago players, much to the chagrin of Univ. of Illinois, DePaul and other Illinois schools who have less than stellar records of keeping talent at home. Works both ways, of course. Now that Paul White has committed to GU, can anyone recall other Hoya recruits from the windy city? None come to mind for me, although I'm sure DFW can think of some. Kurt's main sport was baseball, but he was a decent back-up point guard.

Frank Hollendoner, #1 big man recruit in 1963 (class of 1967). Still the Georgetown record holder for points in one half - 29 - vs NYU on national TV.

Mark Mitchell, who doesn't hold any records for anything, except being a great guy.
