How much do B league basketball players make? D-League players earn one of two salaries—$19,500 or $26,000—for the six-month D-League season, whereas players, including Americans, who play in top leagues abroad can earn six- or even seven-figure salaries.

One thing to note from that article is that he said the initial salary was low, but that was before the B League was created. Since then he said: "So yeah, there was just talk in China that guys were getting anywhere from $100,000 to $500,000 a month. And you know, I was like, ‘I deserve that, I know I'm as good as those guys in the league.’ And I wasn't getting close to that at the time. And so yeah, from a money standpoint I was a little bummed out when I first came here to Japan because it wasn't what I really wanted, I guess, or what I thought I could get. But it was a perfect storm because the JBL [Japan Basketball League] disappeared after my first year. And we went all the way to the Finals, they got rid of the salary cap, and my salary jumped a ton. And then we go and win a championship after I signed a one-year deal and it jumps again. So like from a money standpoint, at this point I'd actually be taking a pay cut if I went and got the minimum in the States back in the NBA. "

I still don't understand why Greg isn't in the L. He is 6'9", can shoot the 3, can guard 3 positions...hell, if he gains a little weight he might be able to guard the 4....smh

The article confused Mourning and Derrickson. Derrickson was with the Sacramento Kings during the summer. Morning was with the Miami Heat. I'm happy for Trey Mourning as he continues to pursue his hoop dreams...

It would be better for the program if the Hoyas had more recent past players landing NBA contracts, but it is still impressive that the program has so many players getting the opportunity to make a living playing basketball around the world. Most high level high school players dream that some day they can turn their ability into a professional contract, and while the big 5 star kids envision themselves in the NBA, the rest of the recruits can look and see that the Georgetown program will give them a chance to follow their dreams and play professionally after graduation.
For a lot of the kids the program has been recruiting for the last few years that has to be attractive and having a coach like Pat Ewing who can make calls and help facilitate those opportunities can only help get recruits. The next step is to successfully recruit the real NBA prospects and then let Pat help them find their way into the league!!

Luckily the video is in English! Not meant to be taken as a shot at Coach JT3 but Hopkins would have been a better fit under Coach Ewing's style of play... Hopkins was a good defender, but his main problem was on offense. He actually got a ton of touches and simply was not that effective on offense, particularly finishing at the rim. Given his size, his inability to finish at the rim really boiled down to a skill/athletic issue that he never solved. Hopkins also fit into the older model of being a big that doesn't shoot from the perimeter at all - which is fine in college, but he also couldn't shoot well near the rim, either. From two point range, he never shot better than 43.6%, and that's simply not good enough, especially since he also turned it over a lot, and did not shoot free throws particularly well, either. That said, for all his offensive difficulties, he was pretty effective on the defensive end. Arguably, since he graduated, we haven't had a C/PF that can defend that well, and the team has missed that. JT3 definitely did not effectively use Hopkins. He gave him the ball a lot, let him take many shots, and he was really ineffective in that role (for example, in 2012, he "used" more possessions than Porter, which was absurd). When he retreated to a more passive role playing defense, he was more effective, but that's not how JT3 used him.
