Summers number one in Ukraine for round 13 basketball.eurobasket.com/Ukraine/news/Summers_number_one_in_Ukraine_for_round_13/346225American forward DaJuan Summers put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Budivelnyk, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13. The 25-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Khimik (#1, 10-2) 84-76. ...In the team's last game Summers had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Budivelnyk's top player in his first season with the team. Former Georgetown University star has very solid stats this year. Summers is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 8.8rpg) and averages impressive 58.2% FGP.

Wow, Jameel Watkins has played 13 years overseas. What is the average annual salary for these players?

Imagine what would have happened if his coach had given him more PT while he was a Hoya!

Wow, Jameel Watkins has played 13 years overseas. What is the average annual salary for these players? The $_________ question (pun intended). Always wondered this myself. I'm guessing it's hard to nail down even a range since there's such a disparity of teams/leagues/countries with some matrix of: [top-tier/bottom tier] and [well-funded sponsors/sponsors who come and go]. I remember a story back in the 90s about Khalid El-Amin from UConn playing for one of the top Israeli teams. Seemed to suggest he (as a "name" US player) was on a contract paying him about $500k for the season. I'd think an ok player in a lower or mid tier league "makes" (salary plus housing/car allowance) the equivalent of $50k US for a season, and some guys can hop continents to play two "seasons" during the year. A good player who's playing in top-tier leagues (say Bowman) might be at $250-500k/yr (again, salary plus perks)

The 28 year old American guard was a teammate of Trikala player Patrick Ewing Jr at Georgetown which in 2007 were key to the Final Four of the NCAA.

Imagine what would have happened if his coach had given him more PT while he was a Hoya! It is clear that he was unable to showcase his talents within the confines of the Georgetown system.

Imagine what would have happened if his coach had given him more PT while he was a Hoya! His coach was John "No minutes for down the bench players" Thompson III.

This is from two years ago: sportsagentblog.com/2012/07/30/nba-d-league-vs-european-basketball-why-dont-more-players-go-to-europe/"Depending on the league that players get into in Europe, salaries can start as high as $100,000. Not only is there a big discrepancy between the salaries [compared to the D-League], but the money made in Europe is typically tax free. The club oftentimes will pay your taxes to the country you are playing in. That American who is playing overseas may also receive credit with the United States government for paying their taxes. Further, most European clubs commonly pay for a player’s living expenses. That includes providing a player with a car and lodging. So the player in Europe can be saved from taxes and the more expensive living expenses."

Because that is the NBA website, not the Ukrainian SuperLeague website. I don't think the NBA is reporting what players make overseas. That is probably what the Clippers owed him for 2013-2014 before they released him.
