While I can see the hometown arguments resonating with some people, there's no amount of money that could get me to work or play for Frank Martin. I have no urge to spend significant parts of my life dealing with personalities like that. This is just me; I realize some people have no problem with tons of yelling and obvious anger issues, and yeah, every coach yells, but why would I want to subject myself to that when there are exceptional coaches who don't act like that? Definitely. I know if Dozier picks USC it will be because of family, but out of curiosity, who has Martin gotten to the NBA? Beasley? Doesn't really count because he would've been a 1-2 pick no matter where he went. Bill Walker? Am I missing anyone else? By the way, the percentage of players that JTIII has gotten to the NBA that have played significant roles on their team is pretty impressive. I'm sure that's a huge recruiting pitch for him.

Per Casualhoya, we are having an in-home visit on Wednesday.

Per Casualhoya, we are having an in-home visit on Wednesday. What is the limit on number of coaches that can visit on this in-home?

“Georgetown you can’t say enough about that program,” Dozier Sr. said. “It’s close to my home. They have a winning tradition and I think that’s what stood out the most about the program. They have big plans as well with practice facilities. Their business building was amazing as well. The recruiting they are doing and getting the players in there is impressive as well.” From Scout, Perry Dozier Sr. scouthoops.scout.com/story/1476242-dozier-sees-louisville-decision-coming?s=75Not sure if this has already been posted, but it's good that they're taking notice of these factors.

Hell, Pitino has been coaching at elite programs for over 20 years and he has still yet to produce one great NBA player.

Besides Antoine Walker and Jamal Mashburn, who is there? Several role players, few stars. Wish someone could get that fact to Dozier.

Looks like the family is well aware of the plusses associated with playing at and attending GU. That is all you can ask in terms of a recruitment...if the kid wants to go somewhere else, the staff can not be "blamed". Making the top 3 won't help us win any games...but says a lot to me.

I read somewhere that michigan is visiting today? I thought they were out. Looks like they backed off the "top 3".
I'll admit, I had my hopes up as much as I tried to temper them. I'm going to now since it seems like all 3-4 schools have an equal shot.

Seems like that IAC cannot be built soon enough. Though I have never liked Pitino or Louisville (or Providence or Kentucky largely because of Pitino)it is a mistake to ignore his success at the collegiate level. I agree that his list of accomplished professional players is lacking, but few can match the success he has had at every stop in his collegiate coaching career. Moreover, as the only game in town, Louisville basketball is guaranteed to make a kid the big man on campus and in town. Sounds like the Hoya coaching staff is doing everything possible to win this kid over and that is all that can be asked by the fans.

Russ Smith made the Pelicans. Also, I thought the Pistons parted ways with Siva.

Francisco Garcia Gorgui Dieng Peyton Siva Earl Clark That’s their current list.. Yuk Clark, Garcia and Siva aren't on NBA rosters. Russ Smith is, but hasn't played a minute. So just Dieng. When you really think about it, that's pretty shameful. Never realized just how bad Pitino is at developing NBA talent. Amazing college coach though.

I really think it's South Carolina, then Georgetown, then Louisville. Here is a list of Louisville's notable point guards over the past several years:
Quentin Snider (2014-present): 6'2" Terry Rozier (2013-present): 6'1" Chris Jones (2013-present): 5'10" Russ Smith (2010-14): 6'0" Peyton Siva (2009-13): 6'0" Chris Smith (2010-12): 6'2" Preston Knowles (2007-11): 6'2" Edgar Sosa (2006-10): 6'2" Jerry Smith (2006-10): 6'2"
A lot of the guys on this list weren't even point guards. ALL of Pitino's point guards and most of his shooting guards are in the 5'10"-6'2" range, because his system requires extreme amounts of quickness. Dozier is a more deliberate, smooth guard than most of the guys on this list, and obviously his body type is completely different from any of them. Meanwhile, JT3 seems to be emphasizing versatility and tall ball-handlers and passers recently. This year's team will feature DSR (6'3"), Peak (6'5"), Trawick (6'5"), and White (6'8") in ball-handling roles of some capacity.
It seems like Dozier and his family consider him a point guard, and find it extremely important that he plays that role. I find it much more plausible that he could fit in Georgetown's system as a true point guard than Louisville's. In addition, Dozier's arrival would allow DSR and Peak to operate off the ball, where they are at their best. It would be a deadly trio.

We should win this recruiting battle. Unlike all of the pass recruiting battles, we are in the best position in all of the basketball related categories if the IAC does in fact open in 2015. Agree, we are in a great position. I wish kids made their decision based on logical criteria like those you list. But unfortunately...

Fellas I wouldn't worry to much about what the father is putting out in the press. 3 yrs ago during this time with Nerlens all of the leaks were saying Gtown and then at the presser he reveals the UK shaved into his head. We just have to hope that the family(father) realizes that his best chance at picking up the skills to be an all-star level NBAer is at GTown. Gtown is loaded with "ready to win now" talent and also provides the opportunity for PJ to play his desired position. USC also provides PG playing time but the team is at least 3yrs away. We should win this recruiting battle. Unlike all of the pass recruiting battles, we are in the best position in all of the basketball related categories if the IAC does in fact open in 2015. I want to hug you. Where do you purchase your Kool-Aid? I wanna pick some up.
