As my man enj said, maybe nobody told him we had "moved on".

But why would we have moved on without Bentil in the fold? Unless there are academic or other issues, it doesn't make sense to withdraw interest from a player just because the player indicates that he is likely to be a spring commit. What if we still have a spot in the spring?

remember casual's info was from a source. Bentil needs to pop; like his fit/need better.

As my man enj said, maybe nobody told him we had "moved on". Perhaps, but recall the reported reason we had "moved on": Per source, Georgetown is no longer recruiting '14 F Paul White source could be wrong, but if true, my guess it’s because White doesn’t want to commit just yet and JT3 may want to move on completing the ‘14 class. Top 100 F Ben Bentil seems like a Hoyas lean and then there’s the big fish, center Elbert Robinson to focus on.If the above is correct, it's quite possible White got that feedback and has decided to move more quickly - committing to a visit at least. One thing we do know for sure, we never know what's really going on in JT3's head. We just have to wait to see what unfolds. Here's hoping we can close out the 2014 class with a couple more high end additions.

Bentil or White are both good options. Take whomever first commits. Wait, the Hoyas, recruiting from a position of strength? What bizarro world is this?

Not that ranking matters the most, but i thought most scouts have rated white higher than bentil. who do you guys think fits better?

Plus, if you look at school lists, it would appear White has higher profile programs after him compared to Bentil (who lists Providence, St. Joe's, Temple among others). Whitney Young is a big-time program in Chicago, not too sure about what a small private school in Delaware does for the Hoyas in the future. I'd definitely want to get in good with Whitney Young if possible, with Coach Hardy leading the way. To me, assuming Bentil's not a way better player than White (and there's no reason to think he is), I'd prefer White if I was picking between the two.

What national ranking do you think a class of tre, lj, Isaac, paul, and big e would get? I know gtown is usually down graded but I can't believe that class would be ranked less than 5th.........I think it should be ranked #1 even if okafor and innis indeed in up at duke together..............

Give me whoever says yes first I guess… I do like Paul White’s skill set but Bentil is tougher more physical plays with an edge.
Who do you guys think is a better fit next to Copeland? I’m not quite sold on Isaac having the ball handling to play the 3 right now tbh..

I'm sure Paul White is an excellent recruit we'd all be happy to have. From what I read of Ben Bentil, however, I like the interior strength and toughness. During JT3's years, we've had more talented finesse guys than tough guys. I'd like to see a better balance along those lines. It's also in keeping with both Big East and Hoya tradition.

I'd prefer Bentil for what others have said because of his physicality and still the ability to knock down the 15-footer. The knock on White has been his lack of intensity, but the same has been said about Bentil occasionally this summer. Add either to Elbert and this class remains top five and may be top three.

Rather have White than Bentil. White is more versatile and has a higher ceiling. White's school list is more impressive than Bentil's, which tells me White's more highly regarded by high major coaches. Additionally, Whitney Young is a gold mine of talent, as is White's AAU team. Getting in with those squads would be more advantageous long-term than where Bentil is coming from.

All due respect HoyaB but I disagree on a few of your points, Bentil isn't as versatile offensively but he is on the defensive side of the court so to me that's a wash.. I don't see PW having a higher ceiling either, Bentil is a much better athlete who's still learning the game.. Paul's recruitment list is much more impressive but you have to admit that playing on powerhouse teams in HS and aau gives him a much larger audience. If Hardy is as connected as everyone says he is in Chicago then the staff will be fine there. To me Bentil is a 4-5 type and White & Copeland are 3-4 types... Honestly I wouldn't care if JT3 took both and called it a day for the 2014 class but if I have to choose 1.. I'll take Bentil

I agree Etomic, except that I think getting a true five is essential because the fives we have are unproven to this point. Some may think we can afford to wait on 2015 for a five; there's some good ones in that class, but I'm a bird in the hand guy and we still have a good shot at Elbert.

In theory we could have as many as 4 more scholarships if we want them: 1) If Josh does not come back next year, 2) if we don't bring back Moses 3) if we don't bring back Aaron, and a 4th if someone else transfers. So I wouldn't mind taking Bentil and White and Elbert.
I don't really care either way between Bentil and White, although White is ranked a fair bit higher than Bentil in the rankings. I'll just TTS.

I'm firmly in the White camp. Its much more difficult to find a 6'8" kid with White's skill set....then it is to find a kid with Bentil's. White is a polished offensive player, a solid passer, a good finisher, handles the ball well, who is more of a natural scorer. Bentil is a tough kid with decent ability, but is pretty raw offensively.
I'd take White all day long....kid has NBA potential.

Agree with blueandgray. I'm not particularly in love with either prospect but tend towards White for the reasons he stated.
