I'm firmly in the White camp. Its much more difficult to find a 6'8" kid with White's skill set....then it is to find a kid with Bentil's. White is a polished offensive player, a solid passer, a good finisher, handles the ball well, who is more of a natural scorer. Bentil is a tough kid with decent ability, but is pretty raw offensively. I'd take White all day long....kid has NBA potential. If White commits, he along with GW & Copeland will give G'town 3 sf's starting in the 2014 season.. I get that they're all versatile type players but none of them are banger types that every team needs.. I personally don't believe in the "true" center need that many on the board long for but I do think the team needs some solidly built athletic/physical players in the frontcout who have the ability to face the basket offensively. Bentil also has the ability to guard 3-5.. The youngster has a lot of upside imo..

White sounds like he would be a very solid get but I too am in the BB camp, all things being equal. Program needs more girth in the paint considering we are attracting more skilled players of late.

Don't you think Josh is girth enough?

Don't you think Josh is girth enough? Do we have a girth quota?

A kid at the four that's more of a four that can play the three if needed.

I'm not really sure why some people keep calling him a SF. He would function for us just like Jeff Green did. He'd be a good point forward. He would work extremely well with a big (Robinson preferably) and Copeland at SF.

I wonder what he means by "resources" in that last part. As far as risk, not one of the schools on that list can compete with Georgetown in terms of developing players like him.

I didn't call him a three, but his game is a finesse style; not as physical as JG, but I've made comparison too. I'd just prefer a more physical four.

You did not say he was a SF but others did. On the finesse thing, I see what you are saying. But he did average about 6 boards a game at Whitney Young last year which plays much tougher competition than St. Andrews and White was rebounding well in AAU. And let's remember Jeff Green wasn't particularly physical or even a good rebounder and we did pretty well with that because we had a 7 footer to help and Jeff was smart enough and skilled enough to make people pay. I'm just fearful that Bentil may be a bad fit. I mean Moses is a physical force and does help but he's also misplaced in our offense which is why he doesn't play more (along with terrible fouling of course). From the limited amount of Bentil I've seen, he doesn't seem to be particularly skilled. To be clear though, I won't be upset with us getting either of them.

I had also heard Paul White was a good rebounder (in fact, the best rebounder on Whitney Young). I found these EYBL advanced stats on rebounding, and they seem to back that notion up: latenighthoops.com/2013-eybl-rebounding/#.UiYQFWSgmgQPaul White was easily in the top 10% of all EYBL in total rebounding % and defensive rebounding %, and he was just under top 10% for offensive rebounding %. Especially with this coming from a guy who played more on the perimeter, it says to me that he's a great rebounder, hopefully a la Otto. In other news, Angel Delgado was a HUGE pickup for Seton Hall. His rebounding stats are ridiculous.

According to multiple twitter sources, Paul White is opening his recruitment back up, but still plans on taking visits to the 5 schools he had already set up.

Swing and a miss, strike two for Casual Hoya in its attempt to be a recruiting insider.

Hope we continue to show interest. Not sure if I'd take Bentil over him, really depends on where we go with our 5s. Will the be finesse or bruisers.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Every time Casual Hoya has gone out on a limb it's been the exact opposite. I mean White may very well commit, but issuing a statement a little over a week before your visit stating you are welcoming new schools doesn't sound like someone who knows where he wants to go.
