Thanks for clarifying - I guess I read into the "checking in on him" comment that he was playing.

I know he's going to get better competition at Montverde, but I don't quite get the rationale of transferring mid year and having to sit out the rest of the year because of it. Would have made more sense to transfer after the season for his senior year. But what do I know. Just hope he's a Hoya! Poster over at Casualhoya suggesting that Noah transferred so he could reclassify to '14: www.casualhoya.com/2014/1/11/5299354/lj-peak-highlights-and-game-footage#comments "Some down at Montverde think that young Mr. Dickerson could reclass to 2014, thus the move from the North ATL."

Wow, I hope they are correct and I hope he ends up at GU, what a class that would make.

Why did he need to transfer to re- classify? I love the kid but I don't think he's ready to contribute next season.. I was nervous about him being at Montverde because of possible influences but I was happy he'd get great coaching and play a tough schedule to prepare for college.. I don't think it's a good idea to leave HS this year..

Better training against better players in a more basketball centric environment… If he is coming next year I like the move, I’ll believe the reclass when I see it however...

Recently, a top 50 player in the 2015 class decided to transfer to one of the top prep schools in the nation. Noah Dickerson announced on January 7 that he will transfer from North Atlanta High School to Montverde Academy for the 2014 spring semester. I had a chance to interview the Atlanta, Georgia native about his decision. When asked about the move, Dickerson said, “I felt that when I got to college, I didn’t want to have a year where I didn’t play very much. I want to come into college and I want to play, and they weren’t really developing me that much at North Atlanta. (Montverde) Coach (Kevin) Boyle is one of the best high school coaches in the country and I know he will develop me.” He chose Montverde (FL) over offers from other nationally known schools such as Oak Hill Academy, Brewster, and New Hampton. He believes that playing against a consensus top 5 player in his class in Ben Simmons every day in practice will allow him to take his game to another level. He also believes he and Simmons will work well together in games saying, “I’m truly more of a post player, and Ben is a little more an outside guy. So, I do think we will complement each other.” allmetrohoops.webcraftive.com/index.php/news/87-news-articles/110-noah-dickerson-noah-dickerson-to-montverde-academy

scouthoops.scout.com/2/1375024.html“(Hoping to visit) Florida, Virginia, Ohio State, Georgetown and Duke.” Why have these schools stood out for Dickerson? Florida: “Coach (Billy) Donovan is a really, really good coach. He has had a long history of power forwards that have gone through his program and going off to do other things. And doing a lot of really nice things when they go out.” Georgetown: “is the post players university. They have a lot of success with great post players coming out of there. Coach (John) Thompson is a very great coach and does a really good job with bigs.” Ohio State: “I love coach (Thad) Matta; he is a really great coach. He also has had a lot of success with big men and power forwards. He helps develop their games really well, well the coaching staff does.” UVa: “Coach (Tony)Bennett and (Ron) Sanchez they are great coaches and also great guys. I know going there, they will help me get better everyday. I see they are very good at developing post players. I like that a lot.” Duke: “Has been one of my favorite schools since I was young, even before I played basketball. Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski) is one of the best coaches to ever coach. He also has had success with post players and developing young men-getting them ready and things like that.”

It's crazy to me how much players love Duke, yesterday it was Rabb & today it's Dickerson both practically begging for offers.. To top it off Duke is chasing Chase Jeter harder than anyone and he's lower ranked than Rabb & Dickerson... I can't stand that program but I have to respect them..

(Yeah, Mike Scott, but still not a real solid record since Ralph Sampson [who retired the year Noah was born])

Maybe the assistant came from somewhere where they had good bigs.
