Last year, as a 2 seed in the tourney, our center was Hopkins. Defensively we were stout and the reason we got knocked out in the 1st round wasn't because of our post presence or lack thereof. I seem to remember getting knocked in the 1st round in what forever will be known in Georgetown lore as the Night of the Flying Dunks. It would not have happened with a true post presence like Roy, for example. FGCU would have been forced to shoot jumpers. Its possible that Roy would have made the difference....but you'd think that the same would have held true against Davidson. IMHO, the reason we lost against FGFU was that they played loose and we didn't. Yes, its important to have a defensive presence in the middle, in my mind however, its more important to have long wings like Whitt and Otto/White and Copeland to pressure the perimeter and passing lanes (and have 5 guys that can score) than anything else. Think the above mentioned 5 would thrive for the Hoyas.

I'm sorry to take this thread away from one of our future Hoyas but to say our team should have played looser or that the team from southwest Florida had more offensive talent than us is just wrong. We never played loose that season and we certainly had more talent than some start up school. Get over the fact that we lost and don't use your exaggeration of one game to make a case for a recruit.

Alex Kline @therecruitscoop 19m RT @ontheradarhoops: 2015 PF Noah Dickerson has left North Atlanta (GA) & is enrolling at Montverde (FL) for the second semester.
Is this a good thing for G'town?

Unless his family moved, seems somewhat strange to switch schools and teams mid season.

Wasn't Coach Sutton there? About 5 years ago?

Sutton built that program and made it a national power but was fired a few years back so they could bring in Kevin Boyle.

From a basketball point of view it seems like a no brainer, Monteverde plays a tough schedule, has perfect facilities & Boyles is a pretty good & tough coach..

Today, I had a chance to speak with Dickerson about the transfer and other Georgetown related issues. I asked Dickerson what does he want to improve on going into next year. “I want to develop more skill and be more developed as a player. My strength and condition will be something I will improve also.” Dickerson is a very good player, I asked him about Georgetown’s style of play and how it meshes with his own style of play. “Yes I do think they fit my style of play. They like to throw the ball in the post and I can post up. They play inside out. Dickerson attended Georgetown’s Midnight Madness event earlier this season. He shared his thoughts on the members of the class of 2014 signees. ”LJ is scorer. Isaac is a 6’9 foward, who is athletic and can really shoot. Tre Campbell is really a good guard.”. Dickerson also described the relationship he has with Kevin Brodus. “We have a really good relationship. I talk to him all the time. I feel like he is a good guy to talk to and I call him on occasion to talk” - See more at: mymindonsports.com/sthash.Kx6wgRLV#sthash.LbD2aP3o.dpuf

Etomic, I just saw your question in the other post, my bad.
I honestly don't think it's a big deal. The biggest things in recruiting are effort and building and maintaining relationships. As long as the Hoyas take care of those on their end, they'll be in hop shape.

I know he's going to get better competition at Montverde, but I don't quite get the rationale of transferring mid year and having to sit out the rest of the year because of it. Would have made more sense to transfer after the season for his senior year. But what do I know. Just hope he's a Hoya!

Was told he is sitting out the rest of the year. Didn't play in that high school showcase in Springfield. Different high school leagues / districts all have different rules.
