our guard play just wasn't good enough. not tournament caliber. at least not consistently. That Wallace-Reed-Cook trio got worse as the season wore on.

When Wallace hit the wall we started losing. Between ND and UConn he went 9-40 from three in 10 games. He doesn't drive much so this essentially allowed guards to cheat over on Ashanti and everyone else to cheat down low on Jeff.
Now he is only a freshman so it's understandable. The issue will be whether he improves his stamina and all-around game to become an effective starter or if Sapp just takes the spot from him and Wallace has an important, but reduced role.

It is apparant that we need some big bodies for next year; not tall bodies but big bodies. If we sit back and look at the season, it is astounding we won as many games as we did in the Big East. We basically have only three Division 1 players over 6'6" and none are really big strong defensive rebounders and defenders. Hopefully, Big Roy will improve a lot. He is ony 18 and it seemed his feet were bothering him the last four weeks. Let's hope. Green is obviously a star but he caried us the whole year. Thank God for JTIII. A rewarding year for me as a fan and for the team as they developed an identity and cohesiveness despite a lack of overall athletic talent. AS they used to say in Brooklyn, "wait till next year".

Hoya Snooza?
On the plus side, we've got a lot to look forward to next year. No matter now many times you say "cocks".
To put things in persepective, one team that GU beat this year is in the Elite 8 and another lost to UNC by one. You've got to take something away from that.

Does Jeff Green really sign his name "Jeffrey Green?" (look at the main pic of the basketball). Ha, that's awesome! ;D
