You have to register to get to the story -- is it the one about Rollie pushing for an NAIA job in West Palm? Great gig for a guy his age -- still, his descent from 1985 is extraordinary. Villanova was a bulletproof gig at that time -- he worked pretty hard to blow it, I guess.

Here's a link that doesn't require registration from the Palm Beach Post: www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/content/sports/epaper/2005/03/23/a1c_northwood_0323.htmlThat's really funny that out of all the places in the world...he's landing less than a mile from my parents' office in WPB (city I was born/grew up in). This is totally grounds for a random basketball game outing next Winter Break when I'm home. I actually heard whoever the announcers were during the UF-Nova game this past weekend talking about Rollie, and they brought up something about him living in Jupiter, which is where I'm from--actually turns out he lives in Tequesta, which is one town north. Now if John Thompson II would take a coaching gig at Lynn University or Palm Beach Atlantic, THEN we'd be talking rivalry!!

I heard Rollie state that, even today, he gets 9 or 10 telephone calls every week from former players. He was a colorful guy who, along with Carneseca, Boeheim and JT made the Big East the place to be in college basketball.
