Telling them in person he's going to Georgetown? I hope so because it seems like no one actually saw him at the event. He was there definitely but no one saw him where the recruits were hanging.

Seems like he is holding to his November 11th date to commit, and it has been pretty quiet otherwise from the complete lack of internet chatter.

He is actually advertising that people who come here don't finish school, such as it is. That blows my mind, talking up the openness to using the school as a springboard to pro ball instead of as a, you know, school. Obviously, school is the last thing on Roy Williams mind, which is embarrassing. And yes, I do know that "one and done" is a fact of life, but for the head coach of a school under investigation for weak/non-existent academic requirements to use media day as an opportunity to say you don't have to be serious about school if you come here is just tone-deaf and irresponsible for an "educator."

Apparently, investigation or no investigation, they're staying consistent with their "academic" philosophy.

I think you're making some pretty big leaps here Seaweed.. There's some irony in the fact that a big part of the article was about UNC's paranoia that the media & other schools are telling kids(top rated) that Roy doesn't like one & done players and that if you go there be prepared to stay awhile..

SC just landed Keita. I would think that would help with 7th recruitment. SC is putting some pieces together that could make 7th believe that he can win in his home state......

I was commenting more about the ability for them to win anything with him as the old ball coach!

Hey.... 17-16 is nothing to sneeze at in the SE Conference. Oh wait. Yeah, it is. Especially considering it was Martin's first "winning" season there with a 6-12 conference record. Unless Michael Beasley got a waiver for another year of eligibility, Martin's coaching isn't going to help much.

The Gamecock fans here in Columbia think it is down to them and UNC, describing GU as too far away from his family. They also think the early announcement favors them.
I'm not so sure. The school he goes to--Hammond--is a very good private school (for SC). So the discussion above about academics/UNC may play more of a role than you would expect given a recruit from a state on the low end of the educational spectrum.

I think no one has any idea. I hope its us just so all those people can see that these whispers they heard are from some kid with an internet connection in his basement just making stuff up.
