Isn't he close with Dozier?
I have to ask why doesn't he have a bunch of offers?
I'm all for the staff pushing for the kid but they can't slow play any the other targets..
1st come, 1st serve in my view

"Seventh told me his decision to come to Hammond “had nothing to do with basketball.” Hammond “is one of the best academic schools in South Carolina,” he said. “So that was our main focus.” And for better or worse, a young player’s main showcase today is the Amateur Athletic Union summer circuit, not school games. grantland.com/features/seventh-woods-high-school-basketball/

I think it's time to remove the OT from his thread title

Get AI on campus when Woods comes to visit! Too bad it didn't work out with Bryant Crawford when AI was on campus.

The next best, UNC, may or may not have sanctions coming their way (I'm thinking that, even if they do, basketball won't be affected but we'll see).

Wow, pleasantly surprised we made his final four. I wasn't even really considering him as an option. What an incredibly athletic backcourt Mosely and Woods would be....
That being said, we've made lots of final lists for stud recruits in the past couple years and come up empty. I'd still think it's much more likely we get one of the other guards we're on.

What does the OT stand for? Off-topic, I'm assuming Nah I'm pretty sure it's offensive tackle

I'm in Verbal Commits and most of these other three teams seem to be packed full of guards which IMO would limit he's playing time. Let's keep our fingers cross for a visit.

This is great news. As someone said before this kid could change the entire perception of guards at GTown. We haven't had a game-changer athletically with the offensive skills to boot in a long time at the guard position. Anyone know what his timeframe will be? Early signing period?

He has been really tight lipped about recruiting. I think some schools were reading the tea leaves that he wanted to go to UNC and his getting hurt last year stopped his hype train.

Oh, boy, I am late getting to this thread, which I thought indicated that Tiger Woods missed the cut for the 7th time this year.

Just like with our recent commitment, it would be AWESOME to become the #1 destination for HS basketball stars who are excellent students or who really value the education part of the deal. We have a pretty special package with Big East basketball and a Georgetown education -- I hope that this kid feels the same way -- would be a very nice "get"!

We have a pretty special package with Big East basketball and a Georgetown education -- I hope that this kid feels the same way -- would be a very nice "get"! I agree. Unfortunately, those two wants often pull in opposing directions. I'm hoping that, in the near future, we get a kid to come in that plays ball and leaves when it's right for him to do so in terms of his pro career and either returns over the summer or after his playing days are done and finishes a degree in finance. After which, he (or she) starts a management company that actually looks out for other pros that, at an alarming rate, end up broke. In fact, I'd love to see Georgetown start a finance program focused on catering to athletes. While it's nice for a filmmaker to have another reason to make a 30 for 30, it's really sad that so many people end up with so little after having had so much and given so much. With Alonzo on the Board, I couldn't imagine a better steward for such a program. Not to mention, it fills a very real need and, for the people that are good enough to get scholarships but don't quite make that next step, it's a great field in which they can utilize both their academic and athletic experiences. Imagine being a solid player in a good program like Georgetown with a degree in financial management with a focus on athletics. A kid graduating with that on his or her resume would have instant credibility on 2 fronts and would be attractive as hell to certain employers.

Sounds like a player who can break a stereotype that JTIII only develops big men. Said he would declare soon...I wonder what he considers "soon". Seen this all before though. I'm not going to get my hopes up.*
*Hope is through the roof.
