Cable companies/Satelite providers: Enough. It is well past time to move those new fangled HD channels from the 500s to the big time single digits. It isn't a fancy fad anymore- it is essentially 20 year old technology at this point. If you don't have an HD TV by now I don't have the slightest bit of patience for the idea that the channel lineup needs to cater to you any more than it should to people who are still watching black and white tvs. NBC HD should be channel 2....not 502. ABC HD should be channel 7....not 1407. Move the standard def channels to the short bus range of the lineup already. I'm looking at you Verizon FIOS. In fact it shouldn't even be called NBC HD at this point. Just NBC. Saddle the crap one with the special moniker.

Cablevision has actually done that.* Unfortunately for me, I'm a Comcast subscriber now. *They haven't eliminated the HD channels in the 700s, but both 704 and 4 are NBC in HD.

Now only if Cablevision didn't have the worst technology in all of cable. I appreciate being able to record 10 programs at once, but why is it not possible to rewind live tv?

Speaking of cable providers, who has FXX? I tried to figure out this weekend why The League wasn't taping and it's because new episodes of The League and Justified and Always Sunny have moved to FXX and that's only available on premium packages.
Am I the only one whose plan doesn't include FXX? I'm assuming I am going to need to upgrade my plan before hoops season.

FXX took the spot in the channel lineup that used to be filled by Fox Soccer, so it might take some cable providers a couple weeks/months to put it back on the same package as FX. Seems weird to shuttle a lot of content over to a new station, but apparently they're trying to go for a TNT/TBS = Drama/Comedy dynamic going forward...

Hazelnut coffee.
It stinks up the entire office/train/car. It is a smell that some might find pleasant for a minute or two were it not that it NEVER goes away. It is what I think of when I remember working at Weisies. Ditto microwave popcorn: a smell too persistent to be fair game in a common office kitchen.
Oh....you can go ahead and grow up and drink coffee-flavored coffee now. Those of us drinking real coffee are tired of splitting coffee resources with the children's flavors. You are one step up from the De-caf guys who are drinking the liquid equivalent of Maggie Simpson's toy steering wheel/car horn.
Finally...if you microwave fish in the office kitchen then you have a private circle reserved for you by Dante.

Today in my corporate cafeteria in Midtown Manhattan I was surprised to see a pasta dish listed as having "rigotta." I guess I should be happy they didn't chop the "a" off the end because as all Italian-Americans seem to think, there are no vowels pronounced at the end of words in the Italian language.
Ok Italian-Americans. If you want to totally mispronounce Italian words while falsely feeling smug about so doing, be my guest. But I draw the line and creating incorrect fake spellings to accomodate this language rape.

Standard height for toilets in this country is still 14.5 inches off ground. Seriously? Are too many people unable to mount an ascent on the mighty 17-inch ADA "comfort height" toilet? Are people getting vertigo or falling to their deaths off of the handicapped ones made for primates who have mastered walking upright?

I take my shoes off without untying them when I get home from work, but then I need to untie them while I'm groggy in the morning, put them on, and re-tie them.
I'm my own worst enemy.

Chicken/turkey as an omelet filling. Nope. Ham? Sure? Bacon? Sure. Sausage? You betcha. But no damn poultry in your eggs. Its just wrong.
I'm starting to think this is a NY thing...buy why do people expect/tolerate their eggs being burnt brown? At every corporate cafeteria I've worked at in NYC, you have to be ON TOP of that guy to pull your eggs off a good 5 minutes before he would have on his own. It is amazing to me that you can cook for a living and royally screw up eggs all morning long.
And what is the point of putting a totally flavor-less cheese on your omelet? I'm looking at you shredded mozzarella.
