Standard height for toilets in this country is still 14.5 inches off ground. Seriously? Are too many people unable to mount an ascent on the mighty 17-inch ADA "comfort height" toilet? Are people getting vertigo or falling to their deaths off of the handicapped ones made for primates who have mastered walking upright? I prefer a low toilet. I find most public ones are a couple inches too high. Plus a lower toilet makes you squat a bit more and thats better for the "system". My pet peeve contribution is people who say touche. This has been a problem for a number of years now, but I work with someone new who says it all the time. Just like "ironic" people have no idea what it actually means.

To all North/East-coasters:
Dunkin's Donuts sucks. Their coffee is bad; their donuts are not special. I have a thousand and one coffee shops and bakeries out west that are preferred. We do not need them, and do not want them. Stop telling me I need to try it or we need one here. I have; it's awful. And we don't. New Yorkers -- you may know bagels but your tolerance for Editedty coffee is unsurpassed.
Signed,
The entire west of the country.

SF, Peet's coffee at the Ferry Building is one of our favorites when we visit San Francisco. No, we don't need Dunkin Donuts out west, especially in San Francisco. For a good cappuccino, we had to wait until we visited SF.

Can't stand Starbucks, either, though.

If you brew at home, try coffee and chicory, either CDM (Cafe Du Monde) or French Market.

I go there all the time but mostly because it's convenient, I'm under no illusions of quality. It's the McDonald's of donuts, not great but you know what you're getting.

Comedy pet peeve(s): Dane Cook and Aziz Ansari. I can't recall ever laughing at either guy's act.

Chicken is not an acceptable pizza topping. It just isn't. Stop it.
And Oh...that "Buffalo Chicken Pizza".....you know cheap blue cheese/ranch dressing is 99% mayonnaise right? So just to be clear....you just showered your pizza in mayo? Barf.

Enough with the roller bags that you drag in a trail of destruction 4 feet behind you. Especially in crowded public spaces during rush hour. People don't generally scan the floor to see if you are dragging along a bag in such spaces. Just pick it up you A hole. Today I saw a little kid dragging an empty backpack (A BACKBACK!) about 4 feet behind him in Grand Central Station with his mother at 8AM during morning rush. This is the ambulatory equivalent of laying down across 3 seats on a rush hour train.

Wow, I watched two people trip this morning on the L train over a roller bag that someone had extended out behind them near the doors. Your rant should replace the 'if you see something say something' signs around the transit system!

Dragging one of those things in a crowded space is like dragging around a trailing land mind because you are lazy. You can't navigate Penn or Grand central at rush while scanning the ground for them. You have to have your head up looking for gaps and walk/run with purpose. By the way unless the bag is heavy (it usually isn't) this isn't even actually easier for the dragger either. I'd argue its far more work if the bag is light than carrying it. Then when someone almost hits the deck because of these jerks they have the stones to give you a dirty look as if to say "Hey, why did you kick my impossible to see trip-wire that I'm dragging behind me in a crowded station?"

The popularity of rolling suitcases is proof that Americans will buy any product which claims to minimally reduce physical exertion in droves.

I understand a woman or an older person might need wheels on a large bag. But increasingly I'm seeing medium and small sized bags and today a backpack on wheels. When I see a middle aged (or younger) man dragging his modest-sized stewardess bag through a public place all I can think of is what is so important that you have to lug it around in there....I mean other than your pride and your testes?

This is a politics-trolling-free thread. Please go start your own thread or hijack one that is political in nature. Being angry at Democratcs isn't a pet peeve of yours. It is rather your oxygen.

If she almost tripped you today because she was dragging a suitcase behind her while sipping her disgusting Dunkin' Donuts coffee while wearing flip flops to the office then you'd be in business.

How about if she almost made me throw up my coffee with her fright wig hairdo and Marty Feldman bug eyes...

Nope. Still not even approaching the concept of a pet peeve.
