Some of this is due to the Post-Season history and the rest is due to the team is under-rated every year

we don't get any love until we have a big TV game, then for advertising purposes we become suddenly a really good team

Seems like it could be an oversight. King was very high on the Hoyas this season.
Of course it's easier to be forgotten when you always lose on one of the first nights of the tourney.

That is clearly a mistake, and also why it is stupid to do those.

If Otto and Greg do not come back next year, this is very good defensive team that has a lot to prove on offense. I don't see why we should be shocked to not be in the top 40. Now, if Greg comes back, then I think that we should be a top 25 team. If Otto comes back, then we should be a top 10 team.

True, but going 40 deep in the rankings gets you to pretty shallow water in the current college hoops environment. I could see him leaving Hoyas out of 25 if he thinks Greg isn't returning in addition to Otto, but out of the top 40? I still think it's an oversight.

Why would Syracuse be ranked in the top 10 when they will lose Triche and Southerland, and possibly MCW? These rankings are based on what teams do to reload and how the coaches get them to be good teams again. If there is ever a poster child for that, it's Gtown and JTIII. But, whatever, it's just one guys top 40 that he thought up at 1am last night...

That is nonsense. The internet has dumbed down the conversation so much. Do they even bother to proof read anything anymore? I would assume the Hoyas were mistakenly left out or this guy is simply not a college basketball expert any more than we are on this message board.

Just get me in the top 40 in late March. Top 4 would be better.

If the ranking is based on the tourney(it's not), we should be ranked in the top 15, because we are 1 of 7 to be ranked in the top 10 at least once for the last 8 years..

Boy, ESPN is not waiting long to hold a grudge, are they? Whatever do you mean? I find it perfectly reasonable to put four ACC teams in the top 10, despite the ridiculous number of departures and uncertainty that surround three of them (while excluding this year's national finalist for basically the same reason). It makes perfect sense to put a team who won the Big East regular season and was one of the last 8 teams playing -- AND WHO RETURNS NEARLY EVERYONE -- only at the 9 spot. probably because they're going to be playing in a weak conference or something like that. I mean, this is 100% objective. What are you insinuating?
