We will be in the Final Four next year. Smith will be the missing piece. Book it.

Just do me a favor, lic.
Try not to remind us all next year when it's February.
That's not the month we seem to be having trouble with...
Appreciate the enthusiasm from all.

I think perhaps I will wait to see how the season - and especially the post-season - turns out before "booking" anything.

Smith would have to play first. We have five options at center next year. This year we chose the smallest, most out-of-position one to start every game over the best rebounder on the team and two freshmen whom presumably we recruited to play for Georgetown University.
Josh transferring here would seem to signify we have a plan and a use for him. But raise your hand if you thought Bolden and Hayes would get 19 minutes this season and Hopkins 20 minutes a game at the 5. And this is before we know what Josh's weight looks like.
So I would hope we will add Smith to be a landlord down low, but a lot has to happen first. Some is on JTIII having a plan for him, but a lot is on Josh picking up the weights and putting down the Bugles.

Not the company, the actual stock was bought out. Unnamed buyer, but rumored to have paid for the purchase with part of a Knicks contract.

When does Otto need to give an indication that he will enter the draft?

When does Otto need to give an indication that he will enter the draft? "The NBA has established two draft declaration dates. All players who wish to be drafted, and are not automatically eligible, must declare their eligibility no later than 60 days before the draft. After this date, prospective draftees may attend NBA pre-draft camps and individual team workouts to show off their skills and obtain feedback regarding their draft positions. A player may withdraw his name from consideration from the draft at any time before the final declaration date, which is 10 days before the draft. A player who declares for the draft will lose his college eligibility, even if he is not drafted, if any of the following is true: The player signs with an agent. The player has declared for and withdrawn from a previous draft. Although the NBA collective bargaining agreement allows a player to withdraw twice,[1] the NCAA only allows one withdrawal." The draft is Thursday, June 27th.

I'll be willing to book a trip to the Final Four when we win our Elite 8 game. At this point, I'm unwilling to book a trip to the round of 32, for obvious reasons.
This strikes me less being an optimistic, enthusiastic fan than being the guy who hands someone a club and says here, bash me in the face again.

I can appreciate this viewpoint, but over the last few years I have realized even if I don't hand the club over I can still get bashed in the face. I am setting the bar high because I think we can achieve it -- we will be deeper and more experienced. Losing Otto will hurt, but remember that he was our 6th man last year. I think we will see players step up next year. If we have a bad season or tournament, it will hurt regardless. I am not going to downplay my expectations of this team to try and limit my emotional pain or protect my sanity.

I'm just too ticked off at the moment to allow myself to engage in that sort of thinking. I'm sure, though, that if we go 24-5 next year I'll be handing clubs to everyone.
