Speaking of colleges, Oubre has quite a collection in pursuit. Alabama, Kansas and Baylor all came through for in-home visits, while Georgetown, UCLA, Arizona, Texas, LSU and others are also making a push for Oubre. The school coming at him the hardest, though, is from outside his normal region. “I would say UConn ,” Oubre said. “Coach [Kevin] Ollie is a very good coach. He's a down to earth guy, and I think they can push me.” He said location is not going to be a criterion in his recruitment, and he's going to look at a variety of factors when he eventually makes his decision. Coaching staff, fanbase and academics will go into his thought process. “I'm not setting no boundaries to my college decision,” Oubre said. “Whatever is the best fit for me and my family, that's the one it's going to be. The school that's going to push me to be the best I can be everyday.” He has no timetable for a commitment. “I'm going to make the best decision possible,” Oubre said. “I'm going to play it out.” www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/22153734/eybl-notebook-kelly-oubre-showing-off-versatile-skillset

Kelly Oubre, 6′-7″, 197, 2014, SF, Bush (TX)/Houston Hoops – On a team with more touted wing forwards, such as North Carolina-bound Justin Jackson and Justise Winslow, Oubre stood out in a come from behind win over Texas PRO. He showed some handle, and an inside-outside game on offense. He was also notable for his rebounding ability, as he displayed strong energy and versatility. hoopniks.com/nike-eybl-dallas-friday-recap/

Louisville, Georgetown off the top...good to hear. I'm surprised the reporter actually asked him about GU; most purposely forget. Anyway, can this kid play the two? He seems like he's a straight three. The Houston kids always go hard, so effort won't be an issue. I actually thought we'd backed off. We're really selling OP to these kids (selling Roy to the bigs); gotta strike while the iron is hot.

ID- can certainly play the two from the following standpoint: handle and defense. Good shooting but not lights out. Great mid-range. Will get to the rack. I love KO but so do the majority of high major Coaches. Tough pull for us for sure.

destroya, that's why it was good to hear Hoyas in his top 4 or 5. If he's got the handle to play the two and mid-range then I'm good with that.

www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/22477476/notebook-kelly-oubre-weighing-high-level-suitorsKansas, Louisville, Georgetown, UCLA, Florida, Connecticut, LSU, Washington and all the Texas schools are making a strong effort for Oubre. The defending-champion Cardinals are coming at him the hardest. “Coach [Rick] Pitino is a great guy,” Oubre said. “He's a great coach, he told me he likes to see his players succeed. I like his offense. He's been there awhile, and he doesn't plan on leaving.” The 6-foot-6 small forward from Bush, Texas, has taken unofficial visits to UCLA, Texas and LSU, but he wants to take official trips to Kansas, UCLA, Georgetown and Connecticut. “Longevity of the coach, coaching staff, style of play,” Oubre said when asked what he's looking for in a school. “The offense they run. Who's going to push me to be the best I can be.”

Nice that we're in the mix, but this is going to be a really tough one.
